Emergency Department Opt‐Out Testing for Hepatitis B: A Two‐Year UK Multicentre Evaluation of Outcomes Across Seven Sites

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims An estimated 270 000 people in the UK live with hepatitis B infection, the leading global cause of liver cancer. Integrating Tissue Gene Expression Profiling With Histopathology in Pediatric Kidney Recipients

open access: yesPediatric Transplantation, Volume 30, Issue 6, June 2026.
Tissue‐based molecular gene expression strongly correlates with histologic assessment and can provide diagnostic clarification in ambiguous pediatric kidney allograft biopsies. Integration of molecular diagnostics has the potential to improve diagnostic precision in pediatric kidney transplantation.

Hepatitis E virus screening in Irish blood donors: Seven years of individual donation nucleic acid testing reveals a frequent blood donor infection—but what is the risk?

open access: yesTransfusion Medicine, Volume 36, Issue 3, Page 279-289, June 2026.
Abstract Background Screening blood donations for HEV RNA mitigates the risk of transfusion‐transmitted HEV infection (TT‐HEV), a recognised blood safety issue in Europe. This study reports the findings of government‐funded HEV RNA blood donation screening 2016–2022 and includes an estimate of residual risk. Method Donation samples were universally and
