Neolignans from Virola carinata☆

Phytochemistry, 1976
Abstract The wood of Virola carinata (Benth.) Warb. contains besides the known neolignans (+)-guaiacin and (−)-galcatin, (−)-isootobaphenol [(2R,3S,4S)-4-guaiacyl-2,3-dimethyl-6,7-methylenedioxytetralin], in addition to 7,4′-dimethoxyflavanone.

Isoflavones from Virola caducifolia

Phytochemistry, 1976
Abstract The Myristicaceae must be added to the small number of families which contain isoflavonoids; the previously unknown 5,7,2′-trihydroxy-4′-methoxyisoflavone and 5,7-dihydroxy-2′,4′-dimethoxyisoflavone having been found to co-occur with biochanin A in Virola caducifolia W. Rodr.

Neolignans from Virola carinata fruit

Phytochemistry, 1985
Abstract The fruits of Virola carinata contain the lignans (−)-cubebin, (−)-hinokinin and (+)-asarinin, besides four neolignans of the β-aryloxy-arylpropane type and two neolignans of the benzodioxane (eusiderin) type.

Arylnaphthalene neolignans from Virola calophylla

Phytochemistry, 1990
Abstract A benzene extract of the bark of Virola calophylla yielded, besides eight neolignans of the dibenzylbutane, benzoylbenzylbutane, aryltetralin and arylnaphthalene types, two new arylnaphthalenes, (8 R )-3,4-dimethoxy-3′,4′-methylenedioxy- > 7′8′ - 6.7′,8.8′-neolignan and 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-3′,4′-methylenedioxy- > 7,8,7′,8′ -6.7′,8.8 ...

Dibenzylbutyrolactone lignans from Virola sebifera

Phytochemistry, 1983
Abstract The fruits of Virola sebifera contain in the seed (2R, 3S)-3-(3,4-dimethoxybenzyl)-2-(3,4-methylenedioxybenzyl)-butyrolactone, in the pericarp (2R, 3R)-3-(3,4-dimethoxybenzyl)-2-(3,4-methylenedioxybenzyl)-butyrolactone, (2R, 3R)-2,3-di-(3, 4-dimethoxybenzyl)-butyrolactone and (2R, 3R)-2,3-di-(3,4-methylenedioxybenzyl)-butyrolactone.

Further lignoids from Virola sebifera

Phytochemistry, 1984
Abstract From the fruits of Virola sebifera 2,3-dibenzylbutanes were isolated together with tetralin and naphthalene neolignans. 2,3-Dimethyl-4-piperonyl-4-veratrylbutan-1-ol, a further constituent, probably arises by a retro-Friedel-Crafts reaction from a tetralin neolignan. An additional component was identified as a dimeric neolignan.

Neolignans of Virola carinata bark

Phytochemistry, 1982
Abstract Four neolignans, dehydrodieugenol, its monomethylether, carinatone and carinatin have been isolated from the hexane fraction of the bark of Virola carinata. Three new neolignans were separated from the chloroform fraction and examined by spectroscopy and chemical reactions.

Lignans from Virola aff. pavonis leaves

Phytochemistry, 1997
Abstract The petrol fraction of an ethanolic extract from leaves of Virola aff. pavonis yielded, beside five known lignans of the aryltetralin, arylnaphthalene and benzoylbenzylbutan types, the four new lignans:, rel-(7S,8S,8′R)-3′, 4′-dimethoxy-3,4-methylenedioxylignan-7-ol, 4-hydroxy-5-methoxy-3′4′-methylenedioxy-2,7′-cyclolignan-7-one, 4-hydroxy-5-

Neolignans from fruits of Virola elongata

Phytochemistry, 1985
Abstract Fruits of Virola elongata contain, besides the furofuranoid lignans eudesmin, epieudesmin and fargesin, the aryl-benzyl-methyl tetrahydrofuran neolignans magnostellins A and C. The absolute configuration of the magnostellins was detennined.

Neolignans from fruits of Virola pavonis

Phytochemistry, 1992
Abstract Virola pavonis was found to contain in the arils of its fruits 8.O.4′,7.O.3′-neolignans (eusiderins A, C and K) and a 8.O.4′-neolignan (of the β-propenylaryloxy-arylpropane type) and in the seed coats of its fruits 8.5′-neolignans (carinatone, carinatol) and 8.5′,7.O.4′-neolignans (dihydrocarinatin, carinatin).
