Virtual Orthopedic-Rehabilitation-Metabolic Collaboration for Treating Osteoporotic HIP Fractures
Endocrine Practice, 2020Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of a virtual, closed-loop protocol that treated hip fracture patients without formal clinic visits. Methods: In this prospective cohort study, an intervention group of 85 hip fracture patients (33.6%) with vitamin D levels ≥65 nmol/L who received recommendations for osteoporosis treatment, was compared to a ...

Virtual Model and Simulation of the Normal and Affected Human Hip Joint
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2016To generate a virtual human hip is a main goal for our research team. Also, starting from the normal virtual hip joint and using the important orthopedics information was defined the affected hip joint. All these models were generated in a 3D virtual environment starting with CT scanning images.

Virtual reality training simulations to acquire surgical skills are important for increasing patient safety and save valuable resources, e.g., cadavers, supervision and operating room time. However, as surgery is a craft, simulators must not only provide a high degree of visual realism, but especially a realistic haptic behavior.

An Anatomical Atlas to Support the Virtual Planning of Hip Operations
2000Two three-dimensional digitized atlases of a female and a male pelvis were generated to support the virtual 3D-planning of hip operations. Beside the anatomical labeling of bone structures the determination of orthopedic measures, like angles, distances or sizes of contact areas, is important for the planning of hip operations.

Virtual planning of hip operations and individual adaption of endoprostheses in orthopaedic surgery
International Journal of Medical Informatics, 2000The introduction of virtual reality techniques in medicine opens up new possibilities for the planning of interventions. The presented software system for virtual operation planning in orthopaedic surgery (VIRTOPS) enables the virtual preoperative 3D planning and simulation of pelvis and hip operations.

Applying Virtual Reality to Design the Game-based System for Rehabilitation of Artificial Hip
Proceedings of the 2020 3rd International Conference on Image and Graphics Processing, 2020With the continuous popularization and maturity of the artificial hip replacement technology, clinically, doctors and patients often only pay attention to relevant matters before and during surgery. They lack understanding and guidance for rehabilitation training after surgery, which causes joint dislocation and other adverse effects.

The effect of height and shoulder-to-hip ratio on interpersonal space in virtual environment
Psychological Research, 2018Previous research has associated men's physical features such as height and Shoulder-to-Hip Ratio (SHR) with dominance. Proxemics literature has suggested that the interpersonal space (comfort distance) increases in threatening and uncomfortable situations and decreases in unthreatening and comfortable situations.

Instability is one of the most challenging complications of total hip arthroplasty. The cause of instability is not always clear and treatment outcome is not always satisfactory. Treatment can be optimized by accurate identification of the cause of instability and precise surgical technique.

The Role of Virtual Rehabilitation in Total Knee and Hip Arthroplasty.
Surgical technology international, 2018Virtual rehabilitation therapies have been developed to focus on improving care for those suffering from various musculoskeletal disorders. There has been evidence suggesting that real-time virtual rehabilitation may be equivalent to conventional methods for adherence, improvement of function, and relief of pain seen in these conditions.
