Arthroscopy
Purpose To (1) compare the efficacy of immersive virtual reality (iVR) to nonimmersive virtual reality (non‐iVR) training in hip arthroscopy on procedural and knowledge‐based skills acquisition and (2) evaluate the relative cost of each platform. Methods

Atlas-based determination of anatomical landmarks to support the virtual planning of hip operations
International Congress Series, 2003Abstract A method for an automatic reliable and precise detection of anatomical landmarks based on triangulated surface models of bone structures is presented. By means of a surface-based registration procedure, manually specified landmarks on the atlas surface are transferred automatically to the patient's surface.

Clinical utility of virtual noncalcium dual-energy CT in imaging of the pelvis and hip
Skeletal Radiology, 2019Dual-energy virtual noncalcium images are increasingly used to identify marrow edema which accompanies bony pelvic injuries and marrow pathology obscured by cancellous bone. We present a clinical perspective of our experience using virtual noncalcium images in the work up of pelvic osseous pathology.

Atlas-based segmentation of bone structures to support the virtual planning of hip operations
International Journal of Medical Informatics, 2001Two 3-D digitised atlases of a female and a male pelvis were generated to support the virtual 3-D planning of hip operations. The anatomical atlases were designed to replace the interactive, time-consuming pre-processing steps for the virtual operation planning.

An anatomical atlas to support the virtual planning of hip operations.
Studies in health technology and informatics, 2001Two three-dimensional digitized atlases of a female and a male pelvis were generated to support the virtual 3D-planning of hip operations. Beside the anatomical labeling of bone structures the determination of orthopedic measures, like angles, distances or sizes of contact areas, is important for the planning of hip operations.

Recent literature has demonstrated that standardized protocols and more limited use of ultrasound can be safely implemented with excellent outcomes in the nonoperative management of developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) in infants. Implementation of remote care management across healthcare services is increasingly affording reduced travel and costs ...

In total hip arthroplasty (THA), the patient-specific bone geometry or the characteristics of the skeletal movement should be considered during treatment in order to prevent complications. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for the analysis of joints which combines the patient-specific virtual and physical simulation.
