Introducing the ‘active search’ method for iterative virtual screening
Journal of Computer-Aided Molecular Design, 2015A method is introduced for sequential similarity searching for active compounds. Given a set of known actives and a screening database, a strategy is devised to optimally rank test compounds by observing the outcome of each iteration before selecting the next compound. This 'active search' approach is based upon Bayesian decision theory.

Microwave imaging via iterated virtual experiments
2016 10th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP), 2016The solution of inverse scattering problems is tackled by means of a novel iterative approach that relies on the emerging virtual scattering experiments' paradigm. In the virtual experiments framework, inverse scattering problems can be solved within a linear framework even for non-weak targets, thanks to the behavior of the fields enforced through ...

Determining the position of a jammer using a virtual-force iterative approach
Wireless Networks, 2010Wireless communication is susceptible to radio interference and jamming attacks, which prevent the reception of communications. Most existing anti-jamming work does not consider the location information of radio interferers and jammers. However, this information can provide important insights for networks to manage its resource in different layers and ...

Iterative design of a collaborative 3D virtual information management environment
Proceedings of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, 2013AbstractThe goal of this paper is to describe the design of a collaborative 3D immersive virtual information management environment. This environment was developed in order to study collaborative information retrieval behavior by users. In the first phase of research we designed and developed this environment in the Virtual Collaboration Arena (VirCA ...

Using iterations for finding the optimal virtual channel in telecommunication networks
Automatic Control and Computer Sciences, 2008We model telecommunication systems using two-state discrete Markov processes. Using the methods of dynamic programming we find the optimal virtual channel with minimal probability of a busy state. A simple example is also considered for the purpose of illustration.

Iterative Part Design With a Virtual Reality Interface
Volume 1: Design for Manufacturing Conference, 1996Abstract A virtual reality (VR) interface to a feature-based computer-aided design (CAD) system promises to provide a simple interface to a designer of mechanical parts, because it allows intuitive specification of design features such as holes, slots, and protrusions in three-dimensions.

Reduced Complexity Iterative Beamforming for a Set of Virtual MIMO Devices
2015 IEEE International Conference on Ubiquitous Wireless Broadband (ICUWB), 2015In this paper, we develop a framework in which single antenna user equipment (UEs) can be clustered together, thus virtually forming a multi-antenna device. Since the antennas for a virtual device are located on different physical devices, applying previous beamforming methods requires the exchange of the channel state information (CSI) between the UEs

A Virtual Layered Space-Frequency Communication Architecture with Iterative Decoding
GLOBECOM 2009 - 2009 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2009In this study, we develop a virtual layered spacefrequency communication architecture. This architecture enables the decoding of transmitted OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)-QPSK signals even if the number of antennas at the transmitter is twice the number of antennas at the receiver over multipath fading channels.

Internal Multiple Attenuation by Iterative Construction of Virtual Events
Proceedings, 2017Summary To obtain an accurate internal multiple estimation without any subsurface information, a new data-driven method is proposed. This novel method is based on the modified concept of virtual events. With the rigid theory deduction, we give the modified version of virtual events construction and its practical iterative calculation method.

Road Loads for Durability Analysis using Virtual Iterations
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2018<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Durability assessment for suspension systems and vehicle structures requires loads on each component from different road profiles. If a new vehicle is to be assessed for durability early in the design phase, a prototype must be built and tested on proving grounds.
