Expanding Interaction Potentials within Virtual Environments: Investigating the Usability of Speech and Manual Input Modes for Decoupled Interaction

open access: yesAdvances in Human-Computer Interaction, 2011
Distributed technologies and ubiquitous computing now support users who may be detached or decoupled from traditional interactions. In order to investigate the potential usability of speech and manual input devices, an evaluation of speech input across ...

On-Line Remaining Useful Life Prediction of Lithium-Ion Batteries Based on the Optimized Gray Model GM(1,1)

open access: yesBatteries, 2017
Lithium-ion battery on-line remaining useful life (RUL) prediction has become increasingly popular. The capacity and internal resistance are often used as the batteries’ health indicator (HI) for quantifying degradation and predicting the RUL.

Aluminum Oxynitride‐Engineered Transparent Aluminum Nitride Resistive Memory for Low‐Leakage Multilevel Switching in Micro‐LED Pixels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An AlON interfacial layer is engineered within an AlN switching layer to enable transparent RRAM with four stable resistance states. The device achieves low‐voltage multilevel switching and a high HRS, allowing precise grayscale modulation and preventing light leakage in micro‐LEDs operated at VDD = 2.7 V.

Virtual Gravity and the Duality of Reality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
It is shown that a hypothesis about gravity having a virtual cause implies there are two primary reference frames, a reality and a functional virtual reality and an equivalence principle relating the two is postulated.

From Strain to Pressure: Atomically Resolved Mechanisms of Stress Dissipation in Emissive, Elastically Deformable Molecular Crystals Under Ambient and High Pressure

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 21, 5 June 2026.
Molecular crystals must withstand both isotropic and anisotropic stress to function in flexible optoelectronics and high‐pressure devices. In situ high‐pressure single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction coupled with DFT‐D computations reveal how an emissive molecular crystal with interdigitated packing bends elastically at ambient‐pressure and remains ...
