Space vector modulation for a single-phase converter with parallel legs using virtual vectors concept

2013 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference, 2013
This paper explores the space vector modulation for voltage fed converters with multiple parallel coupled legs. The proposed modulation strategy allows the synthesis of multilevel equivalent PWM voltage patterns with reduced total harmonic distortion.

Optimized virtual space vector modulation for three-phase three-level T-type converter

Cluster Computing, 2018
The virtual space-vector pulse-width modulation (PWM) control for three level neutral-point-clamped converter (3L-NPC) is ineffective when the modulation ratio is high or the neutral-point (NP) voltage unbalanced due to external factors. In this paper, principles and characteristics of virtual space-vector PWM (VSVPWM) are studied, then an optimized ...

A Simplified Virtual Space Vector Modulation Strategy for Four-level T-Type NNPC Converter

2019 14th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2019
The four-level T-Type nested neutral-point clamped (T-NNPC) converter is a recently proposed topology of voltage converters. In this paper, a strategy of controlling the flying capacitor voltage based on space virtual vector modulation is proposed. Compared with other four-level inverters, the T-NNPC inverter has fewer components. In order to alleviate

Space vector modulation based on virtual indirect control for high frequency AC-linked matrix converter

2014 International Power Electronics Conference (IPEC-Hiroshima 2014 - ECCE ASIA), 2014
This paper proposes a space vector modulation of a high frequency AC-inked matrix converter which is applied to an electric transformer system. The one of problem of a commercial frequency transformer is bulky and heavy. In order to resolve this problem, we propose to use a high frequency transformer driven by three-phase to single phase matrix ...

An Improved Virtual Space Vector Modulation Scheme for Three-Level Active Neutral-Point-Clamped Inverter

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2017
This paper presents an improved virtual space vector modulation (IVSVM) scheme for a three-level active neutral-point-clamped (3L-ANPC) inverter to balance neutral-point potential (NP), reduce switching loss, and suppress common mode voltage (CMV). In the IVSVM scheme, an improved virtual medium vector (VMV) is synthesized by the original medium vector

A Variable Switching Frequency Virtual Space Vector Pulse-Width Modulation Based on the Current Ripple Prediction

2019 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2019
Virtual space vector pulse-width modulation (VSV-PWM) is commonly used in neutral point clamped (NPC) three-level (3-L) inverters due to its intrinsic neutral point potential balancing feature. However, VSV-PWM brings higher switching loss than the traditional space-vector PWM (SV-PWM) under the same current harmonic content.

A Carrier-Based Implementation of Virtual Space Vector Modulation for Neutral-Point-Clamped Three-Level Inverter

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2017
In this letter, space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) and virtual SVPWM (VSVPWM) for the neutral-point-clamped (NPC) three-level inverter (TLI) are reviewed briefly. The relationship between VSVPWM and carrier-based PWM is revealed based on the PWM model of TLI with NP current equation. Then, carrier-based VSVPWM (CB_VSVPWM) is proposed.
