Parvalbumin Interneuron‐Dependent Hippocampal Neurogenesis Evoked by Prolonged Rhythmic Light Flicker

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that prolonged rhythmic 40 Hz light flicker enhances spatial learning by stimulating PV interneuron‐dependent neurogenesis. The light flicker selectively activates PV interneurons, which enhances GABAergic support for the integration of immature neurons in the adult dentate gyrus.

Estudio de la patogenia del Virus de Influenza Aviar de baja patogenicidad en aves de corral inmunosuprimidas por la afección con el virus de la Anemia Infecciosa Aviar

open access: yes, 2014
Avian influenza is considered a zoonosis with pandemic potential. The etiologic agent responsible for this disease is influenza A virus, whose natural reservoir are aquatic wild birds. In this species, the infection with Avian Influenza Virus (AIV) is generally asymptomatic, while in poultry AIV infection can cause a variety of symptoms ranging from ...

Loss of STARD7 Triggers Metabolic Reprogramming and Cell Cycle Arrest in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Breast cancer cells undergo metabolic and transcriptomic reprogramming to support aberrant cell proliferation. Their mitochondria rely on the transfer of phosphatidylcholine from the endoplasmic reticulum to their membranes by STARD7, a candidate upregulated in breast cancer, to be functional.

C1q+ Macrophage–Tumor Cell Interaction Promoted Tumorigenesis via GPR17/PI3K/AKT Pathway Induced DNA Hypermethylation in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the TME of NPC, C1q secreted by C1q+ TAMs interacted with GPR17 to activate PI3K/AKT signaling through strengthening GPR17 coupling PI3K and increasing calcium levels in tumor cells. The activated PI3K/AKT signaling further induces DNA hypermethylation to promote the malignancy and stemness of tumor cells.

Lipid Droplet‐Organized MDM2‐Mediated P53 Degradation: A Metabolic Switch Governing Diet‐Driven Tumor Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tumor‐associated TP53 inactivation correlates with lipid droplet (LD) accumulation. High‐fat diets drive Cyb5r3‐Myh9‐mediated p53 enrichment on LD surfaces, accelerating its degradation while upregulating LD‐promoting factor CD36 expression to establish a feed‐forward loop. LD suppression or dietary intervention restores p53 and inhibits tumorigenesis,
