Virus enhances histamine release from human basophils

Agents and Actions, 1988
Histamine release from human basophil leukocytes was triggered by Staph. aureus or by complement activation caused by endotoxins isolated from E. coli or Salmonella bacteria. Influenza A virus was found to enhance the mediator release and the effect was caused by synergism, since the virus itself did not release histamine.

Bluetongue Virus Proteins And Particles And Their Role In Virus Entry, Assembly, And Release

2005
Publisher Summary This chapter summarizes the current understanding of the three-dimensional structure of BTV particles, subviral particles, and proteins and their role in the various stages of the virus life cycle. Bluetongue virus (BTV) virions (550S) are architecturally complex structures composed of seven discrete proteins organized into two ...

Inhibition of bovine leukemia virus release.

Journal of the National Cancer Institute, 1975
Sera from 3 cows with the adult form of lymphosarcoma inhibited release of leukemia virus from a cell line of fetal lamb spleen infected with bovine leukemia virus (BLV). Sera from 5 to 7 cattle experimentally infected with BLV also suppressed virus release. The inhibition of virus release was reversible.

Correlation of the stage of cytopathic change with the release of poliomyelitis virus

Virology, 1956
Abstract Cytological examination of infected cover slip cultures of monkey kidney, HeLa, and human fetal cells showed that each type underwent similar cytopathic changes and that these changes were identical for each of the strains of poliomyelitis used (Types I, Mahoney; II, MEF-1; III, Saukett).
