Human safety of SPBN GASGAS for oral rabies vaccination of dogs.

open access: yesPLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases
Oral rabies vaccination (ORV) of dogs has been suggested as a complementary tool to injectable rabies vaccination, to access free-roaming dogs during mass dog vaccination campaigns.

Optimized arenaviruses with tumor-tropic mutations promote safe anti-tumor efficacy via sustainable immune modulatory properties

open access: yesCell Reports Medicine
Summary: The non-cytopathic arenavirus lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) induces strong anti-tumor responses. To generate an optimized arenavirus for tumor therapy, we passage LCMV in human or murine tumor cells.

G3BP1 Succinylation at K413 is Critical for Cardiac Function by Modulating PI3K‐AKT‐mTOR Signal Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustrating the impact of G3BP1 succinylation at K413 on cardiac function. In the healthy human heart, G3BP1 succinylation maintains homeostatic mTOR signaling. In patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and heart failure (HF), G3BP1 de‐succinylation induces RagA expression and disrupts the binding of the TSC1/2 complex, leading to the ...

Identification and characterization of a nonpeptidic cyclophilin ligand with antiviral activity against feline and porcine α-coronaviruses

open access: yesVeterinary Research
Coronaviruses (CoVs) are emerging pathogens that have been extensively studied over the last twenty years and can cause acute respiratory diseases in humans, as exemplified by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

Nigra‐Subthalamic Dopaminergic Circuitry Modulates and Represents Distinct Pain Modality in Physiological and Pain States in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nigral dopaminergic (DA) neurons modulate and represent pain with a preference to a particular modality (mechanical) and laterality (contralateral), which are controlled by nigral GABAergic neurons. The pain modulation is mimicked by the nigro‐subthalamic projection and its downstream neurons, involving D2‐like receptors.

Arming vaccinia virus for pancreatic cancer oncolytic virotherapy

open access: yes, 2011
PhDVaccinia virus is a 250-300nm enveloped DNA virus from the poxvirus family and is used as a vector for oncolytic viral gene therapy. No unique cell surface receptor has been identified for Vaccinia virus and the reasons for its tropism for cancer ...

Ultrasound‐Actuated Gene Editing in Human Kidney Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Peptide‐stabilized nanoemulsions enable spatially controlled, ultrasound‐triggered delivery of gene‐editing proteins deep within human kidney organoid tissues. Focused acoustic pulses drive droplet vaporization, propelling cargo into target renal cells while preserving native tissue microarchitecture. This non‐viral platform improves both the depth and

Macrophage Extracellular Traps in Immunity and Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
As a macrophage‐mediated innate defense mechanism, the dysregulated release of METs drives chronic inflammation and influences tumor progression. Furthermore, METs exhibit a functional duality within the tumor microenvironment, capable of both promoting and suppressing tumor development.

A novel oncolytic vaccinia virus with multiple gene modifications involved in viral replication and maturation increases safety for intravenous administration while maintaining proliferative potential in cancer cells.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
To generate a novel oncolytic vaccinia virus with improved safety and productivity, the genome of smallpox vaccine strain LC16m8 was modified by a bacterial artificial chromosome system. By using LC16m8, a replicating virus homologous to the target virus,
