Experimental Identification of GHM and ADF Parameters for Viscoelastic Damping Modeling [PDF]
Viscoelastic materials can be used as an effective means of controlling the dynamics of structures, reducing and controlling the structural vibrations and noise radiation. They can be used as surface mounted or embedded damping treatments, utilizing passive viscoelastic materials alone, the so-called passive treatments, or in an unified way with active

Stick-Slip Behaviour of a Viscoelastic Flat Sliding along a Rigid Indenter
The sliding contact of soft material surface due to a rigid indenter is different from metal and some other polymers. A stick-slip motion is more frequently obtained than a smooth motion. By modeling the soft material as low damping viscoelastic material,

A viscoelastic model with non-local damping application to the human lungs [PDF]
Summary: We elaborate a model to describe some aspects of the human lung considered as a continuous, deformable, medium. To that purpose, we study the asymptotic behavior of a spring-mass system with dissipation. The key feature of our approach is the nature of this dissipation phenomena, which is related here to the flow of a viscous fluid through a ...

This study explores the discrepancies between bulk mechanics and spatial mapping in a tissue‐mimetic hydrogel model. Microplastic particles create localized stiff mechanical microenvironments that are detectable by cellular‐scale nanoindentation but leave bulk properties unchanged as measured by rheology.

A Gneralized Frequency-Temperature Viscoelastic Model
The design of passive damping treatments using viscoelastic materials requires both an accurate numerical analysis approach, usually making use of the finite element method, and a realistic means of material description.

A mechanically programmable hydrogel for tissue engineering is developed by modulating the molecular threading density of poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate‐β‐cyclodextrin (PEGDA‐β‐CD) polyrotaxane and combining it with β‐CD‐modified gelatin. The polyrotaxane‐guided transition from disordered pores to laminar microstructures enables precise tuning ...
