Seven-Parameter Linear Viscoelastic Model Applied to Acoustical Damping Materials [PDF]
In this paper, linear viscoelastic rheological properties of acoustical damping materials are predicted. A rheological model, based on a mechanical element approach, is presented. It consists of a combination of two springs, two parabolic elements, and one dashpot (2S2P1D). This model is applied to different acoustical damping materials.

Permanent magnet putty (PMP) integrates high‐coercivity NdFeB particles with a dynamic polyborosiloxane–Ecoflex matrix, achieving rapid self‐healing (90% mechanical recovery in 10 s) and magnetic recovery within 20 min. With twice the sensitivity of commercial putties, PMP enables precise 5–30 N force detection and discrimination between pressing and ...

Compliant Pneumatic Feet with Real‐Time Stiffness Adaptation for Humanoid Locomotion
A compliant pneumatic foot with real‐time variable stiffness enables humanoid robots to adapt to changing terrains. Using onboard vision and pressure control, the foot modulates stiffness within each gait cycle, reducing impact forces and improving balance. The design, cast in soft silicone with embedded air chambers and Kevlar wrapping, offers durable,

Two-tier model reduction of viscoelastically damped finite element models
Abstract Transient simulations of linear viscoelastically damped structures require excessive computational resources to directly integrate the full-order finite element model with time-stepping algorithms. Traditional modal reduction techniques are not directly applicable to these systems since viscoelastic materials depend on time and frequency.

A Soft Robotic Fish With a Dielectric Elastomer Actuator Body and Negative Stiffness Spine
This work introduces a bio‐mimetic soft robotic fish driven by fiber‐reinforced dielectric elastomer actuators integrated as its body. By prestretching this active skin against a flexible spine, a negative stiffness system is created, enabling large‐amplitude bending.
