Short-term effects of X-ray on viscoelastic properties of epithelial cells
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part H: Journal of Engineering in Medicine, 2019Examining the effects of ionizing radiation on the living cell is significant due to its usage in recent centuries. Investigations into the long- and short-term effects of ionizing radiation began simultaneously with its discovery. Previous studies were done on the effects of radiation on cell DNA or the biochemical cycle based on the electromagnetic ...

A Viscoelastic Model of the Long-Term Orthodontic Tooth Movement
2019The objective of this study was to propose an approach to simulate orthodontic tooth movement by modeling of periodontal ligament as a viscoelastic material. Although there are various models of tooth movement proposed by several authors, most of them are based on empirical remodeling laws without considering nature of biochemical processes occurring ...

Wave equation with viscoelastic acoustic boundary conditions and supercritical source term
Journal of Differential Equations, 2023This paper deals with a wave equation with nonlinear internal damping and acoustic boundary conditions for non-locally reacting boundary \[ \begin{array}{lll} &u_{tt}-c^2\Delta u+g_1(u_t)=0, &(x,t)\in \Omega\times(0,\infty),\\ &u(x,t)=0, &(x,t)\in \Gamma_0\times(0,\infty),\\ &\partial_\nu u(x,t) =\delta_t, &(x,t)\in \Gamma_1\times(0,\infty),\\ &\delta_{

A Multiple Term Viscoelastic Constitutive Model Implemented and Applied for Plastic
Recent Advances in Solids and Structures, 1999Abstract This paper discusses implementation and application of a multiple term viscoelastic constitutive model suitable for plastic materials. The constitutive model uses Feng’s recursive formula where the stress updates depend only on the stress terms in the prior state.

Markovian approximation of linear systems with fractional viscoelastic term
2017It is well known that the response of a linear system enforced by a Gaussian white noise is Markovian. The order of Markovianity is n-1 being n the maximum order of the derivative of the equation ruling the evolution of the system. However when a fractional operator appears, the order of Markovianity of the system becomes infinite.

Interaction between long term viscoelastic and mechanosorptive response of wood
2011Since the first-published work in the 50's the time dependent behaviour raised an increasing interest in wood material research. Creep research has a decisive influence in timber structures where prediction of total deflection is necessary for durable structural design. The nature of polymeric constituents induces viscoelastic behavior to wood.

A model for the long-term viscoelastic behavior of aging polymers
Polymer, 1998Abstract A constitutive model is derived for the physical aging of amorphous polymers. The model is based on the concept of transient networks, where a viscoelastic medium is treated as a system of adaptive links which break and arise due to micro-Brownian motion.
