Nanofluidics: Viscous Dissipation in Layered Liquid Films [PDF]
We studied the layer-by-layer collapse of molecularly thin films of a model lubricant confined between two atomically smooth substrates. The dynamics of the consecutive expulsion of four molecular layers were found to slow down with decreasing film thickness but showed no evidence for confinement-induced solidification.

Non-Darcian Mixed Convection Flow in Vertical Composite Channels with Hybrid Boundary Conditions [PDF]
In this article, the effects of viscous dissipation and inertial force on the velocity and temperature distributions of the mixed convection laminar flow in a vertical channel partly filled with a saturated porous medium have been studied. In this regard,

Puncture of a Viscous Liquid Film Due to Droplet Falling
Droplet impact may rupture a liquid film on a non-wettable surface. The formation of a stable dry spot has only been studied in the inviscid case. Here, we examine the break-up of viscous films, and demonstrate the importance and role of the viscous ...

Viscous Dissipation in One-Dimensional Quantum Liquids
We develop a theory of viscous dissipation in one-dimensional single-component quantum liquids at low temperatures. Such liquids are characterized by a single viscosity coefficient, the bulk viscosity. We show that for a generic interaction between the constituent particles this viscosity diverges in the zero-temperature limit.

A Note on the Cartesian Graetz problem with viscous dissipation
In this paper a numerical analysis to the Graetz problem with viscous dissipation is carried out, based on a series expansion of the temperature field and considering two conditions for the inlet temperature profile, the case of uniform temperature and ...
