Isolation of biologically active alkaloids from Korean mistletoeViscum album, coloratum

Experientia, 1980
Anticancer activity of certain highly cytotoxic alkaloids present in Korean mistletoe has been demonstrated in experimental animals. Unlike European mistletoe, no cytotoxic proteins were found in the Korean mistletoe.

[Studies on the anticancer effects of total alkaloid from Viscum coloratum].

Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2005
To study the anticancer effects of total alkaloid from Viscum coloratum in vivo and vitro. In vitro, MTT assays were used t o measure the inhibitory effect. Cells at period of logarithmic growth were incubated for 24 hours. Then total alkaloid of various concentrations were added. 24 hours later, supernatant was removed and MTT was added.

Enzymatic extraction optimization, anti-HBV and antioxidant activities of polysaccharides from Viscum coloratum (Kom.) Nakai

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2019
An enzyme-assisted extraction method had been optimized by single factor experiments and orthogonal test design, to improve the extract yield of polysaccharides from the leaves of Viscum coloratum (Kom.) Nakai (VCP). The anti-HBV activity of VCP in vitro was investigated by PCR-fluorescent probing (FQ-PCR) and ELISA methods.

[Effects of Viscum coloratum flavonoids on fast response action potentials of hearts].

Zhongguo yao li xue bao = Acta pharmacologica Sinica, 1994
The effects of the total flavonoids of Viscum coloratum (VCF) on the fast response action potentials (FAP) of canine Purkinje fibers and guinea pig ventricular papillary muscles were studied by glass-microelectrode technique. The effects of VCF on the ionic currents through cellular membrane were analysed with selective ion blockers (CsCl, verapamil ...

Physiological Properties of Viscum album var. coloratum Extracts by Response Surface Methodology

Journal of the Korean Society for Applied Biological Chemistry, 2010
The extraction characteristics and physiological properties of Viscum album var. coloratum (mistletoe) were monitored by response surface methodology (RSM). The maximum electron donating ability 88.05% was obtained at 42.10 W of microwave power, 36.99% of ethanol concentration, and 7.17 min of extraction time.

[Experimental study on cellular electrophysiology of Viscum coloratum flavonoid in treating tachyarrhythmias].

Zhongguo Zhong xi yi jie he za zhi Zhongguo Zhongxiyi jiehe zazhi = Chinese journal of integrated traditional and Western medicine, 1994
Viscum Coloratum Flavonoid (VCF) is one of the dihydro-flavonoids isolated and purified from the stem and leaf of Viscum Coloratum. It was proved both experimentally and clinically to have the effects of anti-tachyarrhythmias. The mechanism of this effect, however, was unclear.
