A review of visible light communication (VLC) technology

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2020
This study introduces the concepts and some of the problems facing VLC. The most important discoveries of our time is the technique of communicating with visible light using light that can be seen with the naked eye. This technique uses non-radio frequency, which is jealous and restricted from telecommunications licenses, the urgent need to overcome ...

A comprehensive review of visible light communication (VLC)

i-manager's Journal on Communication Engineering and Systems, 2023
Visible Light Communication (VLC) represents a revolutionary approach in the realm of wireless communication, capitalizing on the dual functionality of Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) for both illumination and high-speed data transmission. The advent of LEDs has not only transformed lighting systems but has also paved the way for innovative communication ...

Resource Allocation for Hybrid Visible Light Communications (VLC)-WiFi Networks

2021 9th International Conference on Communications and Broadband Networking, 2021
Resource allocation management is the key issue of the integrated network of VLC and WiFi. In this paper, we discussed the existing resource allocation algorithms, and proposed a novel resource allocation algorithm based on the proportional fairness (PF) algorithm, which improved the ability of users to obtain resources in different regions and ...

Implementation of visible light communication (VLC) for vehicles

2016 International Conference on Advanced Communication Control and Computing Technologies (ICACCCT), 2016
In this paper, a system is designed especially to communicate between vehicles at night time. This system providing a security for the driver by giving him the luxury of communicating with other vehicles without getting out of his vehicle and another important feature of this system is that for the communication purpose no service provider is needed ...

Hybrid visible light communications (VLC) and PLC system

2017 Opto-Electronics and Communications Conference (OECC) and Photonics Global Conference (PGC), 2017
VLC needs a ubiquitous network as its backbone to avoid becoming an information isolated island. In this paper we propose and experimentally demonstrate an indoor hybrid system that integrates VLC and PLC. OFDM modulation scheme is used to maximize the transmission rate. Experiments show the system works well with the goal of full link transmission.

Passive optical receiver for visible light communication (VLC)

TENCON 2015 - 2015 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2015
We demonstrate using solar cell as optical receiver (Rx) for visible light communication (VLC). The solar cell is low cost and can convert the VLC optical signal into electrical signal without external power supply. As the response of the solar cell is very limited; we also propose and demonstrate using pre-distortion to significantly enhance the ...
