VIRaL: Visual Image Retrieval and Localization [PDF]
New applications are emerging every day exploiting the huge data volume in community photo collections. Most focus on popular subsets, e.g., images containing landmarks or associated to Wikipedia articles. In this work we are concerned with the problem of accurately finding the location where a photo is taken without needing any metadata, that is ...

Deep Visual Geo-localization Benchmark
In this paper, we propose a new open-source benchmarking framework for Visual Geo-localization (VG) that allows to build, train, and test a wide range of commonly used architectures, with the flexibility to change individual components of a geo-localization pipeline.

Mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase uses a mobile biotin‐carrying domain to shuttle a carboxyl group between two catalytic sites, enabling carboxylation of 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA during leucine breakdown. Cryo‐electron microscopy captures the carrier at both sites and reveals an inward loop movement that may prevent futile rebinding to the ...

Artificial molecular machines and motors—Design and control of nanoscale motion
Molecules are constantly moving because of thermal fluctuations, but random motion alone cannot be exploited to perform directional tasks. Artificial molecular machines use chemical, electrical, or light energy to bias this motion. Molecular shuttles, rotary motors, and supramolecular pumps illustrate how nanoscale movement can be controlled and ...

Leucine‐rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI1) is a ganglioside‐binding protein
Neuronal hyperexcitability associated with a decrease/absence of the extracellular protein LGI1 has been suggested to be primarily due to the downregulation of Kv1 channel expression. The molecular mechanisms underlying this decrease have not yet been elucidated.

Underwater Positioning Method Based on Vision-Inertia-Pressure Fusion
In underwater unstructured environments, robots face difficulties in relying on external base stations for localization. Therefore, autonomous localization using multi-sensor fusion has significant application value in such settings.

The impact of a visual spatial frame on real sound-source localization in virtual reality
Studies on audio-visual interactions in sound localization have primarily focused on the relations between the spatial position of sounds and their perceived visual source, as in the famous ventriloquist effect. Much less work has examined the effects on

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.
