Rhythmic fluctuations of saccadic reaction time arising from visual competition

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Recent research indicates that attentional stimulus selection could be a rhythmic process. In monkey, neurons in V4 and IT exhibit rhythmic spiking activity in the theta range in response to a stimulus.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Effects of object working memory load on visual search in basketball players: an eye movement study

open access: yesBMC Psychology, 2023
Background Working memory may affect the athletes’ visual search ability. Objective: This study aimed to examine the differences in the performance of visual search tasks among basketball players of varying sport levels, considering the influence of ...

手の心的回転課題と運動イメージ明瞭度およびワーキングメモリの関連 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Objective : Numerous studies have reported the use of motor imagery as a rehabilitation tool for stroke patients. Here we investigated the relationship of a mental rotation task for assessment of motor imagery ability with motor imagery vividness and ...

An investigation into the effect of floor colour on the behaviour of the horse [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Adverse reactions of the domestic horse to environmental stimuli can be problematic in training and management. Hesitation and alarm reactions to visual features of the ground can occur in both ridden work and when handling horses.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

The effect of complex cognitive context on the dynamic stability during gait initiation in older women

open access: yesFrontiers in Aging Neuroscience
BackgroundChanges in cognitive control are considered potential factors affecting voluntary motor movements during gait initiation (GI). Simulating environments with higher cognitive resource demands have an effect on the stability of GI task performance,

Asymmetric smooth pursuit eye movements and visual motion reaction time

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, 2019
Smooth pursuit eye movements often show directional asymmetry in pursuit initiation or steady‐state pursuit in both humans and monkeys. It has been demonstrated that the initial part of smooth pursuit is driven by visual motion related signals in ...

DVA as a Diagnostic Test for Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex Function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) stabilizes vision on earth-fixed targets by eliciting eyes movements in response to changes in head position. How well the eyes perform this task can be functionally measured by the dynamic visual acuity (DVA) test.

Spatial attention increases performance but not subjective confidence in a discrimination task [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Selective attention to a target yields faster and more accurate responses. Faster response times, in turn, are usually associated with increased subjective confidence.
