SUMMARYSpontaneous fractures are a common occurrence in the paralysed lower limbs of children with meningomyelocele. Such fractures frequently involve the metaphyseal region of the long bones and the X‐ray appearances often closely resemble those found in the spontaneous epiphyseal separations of scurvy.
