Solar irradiance statistical analysis in Mexico City from 2018 to 2021 [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Solar radiation is made up of three components of electromagnetic waves: infrared, visible and ultraviolet. The infrared component is the cause of thermal energy, the visible spectrum allows to see through the eyes and the ultraviolet component is the most energetic and damaging.

Microporous Polymer Membranes: Molecular Stents Enhanced Solvent‐Accessibility for Organic Solvent Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel microporous polyimide (PI‐TB‐NDI) is designed for enhanced organic solvent nanofiltration. By incorporating o‐methyl groups into the Tröger's base (TB) unit to create molecular stents, the polymer's intrinsic free volume is effectively increased without the need for post‐treatment.

Ruthenium Single‐Atom Nanozyme Driven Sonosensitizer with Oxygen Vacancies Enhances Electron–Hole Separation Efficacy and Remodels Tumor Microenvironment for Sonodynamic‐Amplified Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An atomic‐level engineered ruthenium single‐atom nanozyme is fabricated that features sufficient oxygen vacancies and electron and hole separation efficiency, which enhances response to the sono‐suppressive tumor microenvironment and induces tumor ferroptosis.

Effects of vitamin E supplementation in the extender on frozen-thawed bovine semen preservation

open access: yesAnimal, 2011
The maturing sperm cells discard the majority of their cytoplasm during the final stages of spermatogenesis and lose some of their defense enzymes. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of vitamin E supplementation on standard semen ...

Multivariate Sparse Functional Linear Discriminant Analysis: An Application to Inflammatory Bowel Disease Classification [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Crohn's Disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC), presents significant public health challenges due to its complex etiology. Motivated by the IBD study of the Integrative Human Microbiome Project, our objective is to identify microbial pathways that distinguish between CD, UC and non-IBD over time.

Engineered Tissue Models to Decode Host–Microbiota Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Host–Microbiota interactions in the human body. Created in BioRender. Ghezzi, C. (2025) https://BioRender.com/ihivskg. Abstract A mutualistic co‐evolution exists between the host and its associated microbiota in the human body. Bacteria establish ecological niches in various tissues of the body, locally influencing their physiology and functions, but ...

Productive performance, egg quality, hematological parameters and serum chemistry of laying hens fed diets supplemented with certain fat-soluble vitamins, individually or combined, during summer season

open access: yesAnimal Nutrition, 2019
This present study aimed to determine the efficacy of supplementing layer diets with vitamin A (0, 8,000 and 16,000 IU/kg diet) and vitamin E (0, 250 and 500 mg/kg diet) either individually or in combination on egg production and quality, and blood ...

Nucleotides as an Anti‐Aging Supplementation in Older Adults: A Randomized Controlled Trial (TALENTs study)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The TALENTs randomized controlled trial evaluates the potential of nucleotides supplementation as an anti‐aging intervention in older adults. After 19 weeks, nucleotides supplementation significantly reduces DNA methylation age, suggesting a delay in epigenetic aging, and improves insulin sensitivity without severe adverse events.
