Netrin‐1 expression is upregulated in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) during metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis and injury‐mediated liver fibrosis. Secreted Netrin‐1 establishes an autocrine positive feedback loop by binding to UNC5B receptors on HSCs.

Cassava is an important staple food and cash crop in Nigeria. Its root is rich in starch and contains a significant amount of calcium, phosphorus and vitamins. However, they are poor in protein and other nutrients. Vitamin A deficiency diseases are prevalent in Nigeria, which has led to the bio-fortification of cassava with vitamin A.
