Molecular characterization and detection of a novel vitivirus infecting blackberry
Blackberries exhibiting yellow vein disease symptoms were found to be infected by a new virus, a putative member of the genus Vitivirus. Recombination assessment of several vitiviruses revealed multiple events involving the newly identified virus isolate.

A novel virus, with characteristics of viruses classified within the genus Vitivirus, was identified from a sample of Vitis vinifera cv. Chardonnay in New Zealand. The virus was detected with high throughput sequencing (small RNA and total RNA) and its sequence was confirmed by Sanger sequencing.

Virome analysis was performed on 174 grape genetic resources from the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization, Japan. A total of 20 bulk samples was prepared by grouping the vines into batches of 6-10 plants. Each of the bulk samples was analyzed using high-throughput sequencing, which detected 27 viruses and 5 viroids, including six ...

Identification, detection and transmission of a new vitivirus from Mentha
Mentha x gracilis 'Variegata' is an ornamental clone with a phenotype caused by virus infection. Several clones were ordered from mail-order nurseries in an attempt to identify a virus consistently associated with symptoms. One of these clones did not exhibit typical 'Variegata' symptoms, and steps were taken to identify any agents causing the 'off ...

Identification and characterization of a new vitivirus from grapevine
New virus-like sequences, TvAQ7 and TvP15, were found in a Japanese grapevine accession of OKY-AQ7 (cv. Aki Queen) and of OKY-P15 (cv. Pione) by nested RT-PCR to simultaneously amplify a segment of the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) gene from members of the genera Vitivirus and Foveavirus.

CHARACTERIZATION OF A FIFTH VITIVIRUS IN GRAPEVINE
A virus species provisionally named Grapevine virus F (GVF) was found in grapevine by deep sequencing. GVF is a vitivirus distinctly different from the other four members of this genus, as shown by nucleotide sequence and phylogenetic analysis. An RT-PCR test was developed for the detection of this virus.
