Production and purification of hybrid Ty-VLPs

Molecular Biotechnology, 1994
This article describes how pure Ty-VLPs (virus-like particles) can be prepared from hybrid Ty-VLPs. Many different hybrid Ty-VLPs have been produced and may be easily purified. Since the sedimentation properties of different hybrid Ty-VLPs are similar, a simple purification process can be used for any VLP.

Biosynthesis of Glycoconjugate Virus-like Particles (VLPs)

2020
The outermost surface of bacterial pathogens consists primarily of complex carbohydrate structures-polysaccharides, glycolipids, and glycoproteins. To raise a long-lasting and effective immune response against carbohydrate antigens, they generally require covalent attachment to an immunogenic carrier protein-a so-called glycoconjugate vaccine.

Protection of a novel epitope-RNA VLP double-effective VLP vaccine for foot-and-mouth disease

Antiviral Research, 2016
Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious viral disease of cloven-hoofed animals. Previously, we found that the epitope peptide EP141-160 displayed on virus-like particles (VLP) for use as a vaccine showed high immunoreactivity and conferred partially effective protection to animals.

Differences in betaine lipids and fatty acids between Pseudoisochrysis paradoxa VLP and Diacronema vlkianum VLP isolates (Haptophyta)

Phytochemistry, 2013
Two Haptophytes were isolated from extensive aquaculture ponds at Veta La Palma state (Guadalquivir estuary, SW Spain). They were identified as Pseudoisochrysis paradoxa VLP and Diacronema vlkianum VLP based on their SSU rDNA homology to other Haptophytes and positioned in the Isochrysidaceae and Pavlovaceae families, respectively. Both Haptophytes had

Subunit Protein Vaccine Delivery System for Tuberculosis Based on Hepatitis B Virus Core VLP (HBc-VLP) Particles

2016
Despite the development of modern medicine, tuberculosis (TB), caused by the pathogenic bacterium, Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), remains one of the deadliest diseases. This bacterium can lay dormant in individuals and get activated when immunity goes down and has also shown considerable prowess in mutating into drug resistant forms.
