Spectral Response Modelling of Multilayer Graphene/Quantum Dot Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
The spectral response of a multilayer heterostructure device with multiple layers of graphene and photosensitizers of different bandgaps (ZnO and quantum dots) is simulated and validated with experimental data. Our simulation incorporates photon absorption by the photosensitizers and charge collection by graphene, capturing the photoresponse dependence

Trochleoplasty Is Associated With High Rates of Patellofemoral Arthritis: A Systematic Review

open access: yesArthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
Purpose To identify 2‐ to 5‐ and >10‐year complications of trochleoplasty and define rates of postoperative patellofemoral arthritis. Methods PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science were queried for terms related to trochleoplasty. Included studies were clinical studies using trochleoplasty to manage patellofemoral instability and were published in English ...

Double‐Limbed Medial Patellofemoral Ligament Reconstruction Using Knotless Femoral Fixation Technique

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract This technical note describes using knotless femoral fixation for medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction for skeletally immature patients. Using a knotless anchor for epiphyseal femoral fixation in the skeletally immature decreases the risk of irritable interference screw fixation and optimizes graft contact with host bone.

Anatomical Association Between Articularis Genus and Vastus Medialis Oblique: A Cadaveric Investigation

open access: yes, 2020
Objectives The articularis genus (AG) muscle is thought to elevate the suprapatellar bursa during knee extension. Failure of this function may cause impingement of the bursa, and lead to anterior knee pain.

Effect of open kinetic and close kinetic exercise on vastus medialis oblique and gluteus medius on EMG evaluation for chondromalacia patella in young adults

open access: yesФізична реабілітація та рекреаційно-оздоровчі технології
Purpose. Young individuals frequently experience anterior knee pain due to chondromalacia patella (CMP), which is frequently caused by muscle imbalances and improper patellar tracking. Enhancing patellofemoral stability requires targeted strengthening of

Allograft Medial Patellofemoral Ligament Reconstruction Using Patellar Suture Anchors and Stepwise Medial Imbrication

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Patellar instability commonly affects adolescents and young athletes and is associated with injury to the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL). MPFL reconstruction is a well‐established treatment for recurrent instability; however, complications related to graft tensioning, fixation, and incomplete restoration of medial soft‐tissue restraints

Rare Variant of Vastus Medialis Detected in vivo by Ultrasound and Confirmed by High-resolution MRI.

open access: yes, 2014
[Purpose] This report describes an unusual incidental finding during ultrasound investigation of the vastus medialis muscle. Volunteers underwent ultrasound scanning as part of an on-going investigation into the architecture of the vastus medialis muscle.

Extension Theorems for Functions of Vanishing Mean Oscillation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
A locally integrable function is said to be of vanishing mean oscillation (VMO) if its mean oscillation over cubes in Rd converges to zero with the volume of the cubes.

Preoperative and postoperative risk factors for arthrogenic muscle inhibition in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: A retrospective study

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose This study aimed to identify preoperative and postoperative risk factors associated with the development of arthrogenic muscle inhibition (AMI) in patients undergoing anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). The hypothesis was that distinct risk factors contribute to the occurrence of preoperative and postoperative AMI ...
