A Study on Vibration Reduction Mechanism of Precision Stage for Laser Direct Imaging [PDF]

open access: yes한국정밀공학회지, 2017
Recently, Laser Direct Imaging (LDI) has been used to replace lithography in Flexible Printed Circuit Board (FPCB) manufacturing. However, repeated motion of a linear motor caused residual vibration in the granite on which the workpiece was placed when ...

Multiphysics Modeling of Voice Coil Actuators With Recurrent Neural Network [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal on Multiscale and Multiphysics Computational Techniques, 2019
In order to accurately model the behaviors of a voice coil actuator (VCA), the three-dimensional (3-D) method is preferred over a lumped model. However, building a 3-D model of a VCA is often very computationally expensive. The computation efficiency can be limited by the spatial discretization, the multiphysics nature, and the nonlinearities of the ...

Human‐in‐the‐Loop Swarms: A Bionic Swarm Approach to Real‐World Soil Mapping

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This article introduces the “Bionic Swarm,” a novel system that lowers the barriers to real‐world swarm validation by abstracting difficult hardware tasks to app‐guided human agents. We demonstrate the system's utility through the experimental validation of a geotechnical soil‐mapping swarm algorithm and show superior performance to baseline approaches

Small‐Scale Magnetic Peristaltic Soft Robot With Mobility and Transport Capabilities

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study introduces a miniature, untethered soft magnetic microrobot with peristaltic capabilities for both locomotion and cargo transport. Eight helically magnetized elastomeric strips deform under rotating fields (10–80 mT, 1–5 Hz), enabling movement across rods and lumina at up to 4.1 body lengths min‐¹.
