Outcomes of Class II composite restorations placed by dental students: An observational study

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Oral Sciences, 2020
Introduction: Main objectives of restoring the teeth is to remove the caries and replace the tooth structure to restore form and function. This radiographic study aimed to determine the defective Class II composite restorations in permanent teeth placed ...

Influence of manufacturing-induced defects on the fatigue performances of autoclave moulded laminates

open access: yesAdvanced Manufacturing: Polymer & Composites Science, 2021
In the present work, cross-ply and multidirectional laminates were produced by autoclave moulding. Changes in the process parameters led to different microstructural features in terms of fibre volume fraction, global void content, and void size.

The feasibility of converting ex-coal mining void into aquaculture in North Kalimantan

open access: yesJournal of Degraded and Mining Lands Management, 2023
Ex-coal mining void has changed landscape shape, physical-chemical, and soil biological properties. As a form of post-mining management, the company must restore damaged land and increase its benefits for the surrounding community, one of which is as a ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Eigen Value Approach in Micropolar Elastic Medium with Voids

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2013
The eigen value approach, following the Laplace and Hankel transformation has been employed to find a general solution of the field equations in a micropolar elastic medium with voids for an axisymmetric problem.

Tensor anisotropy as a tracer of cosmic voids

open access: yes, 2015
We present a new method to find voids in cosmological simulations based on the tidal and the velocity shear tensors definitions of the cosmic web. We use the fractional anisotropy (FA) computed from the eigenvalues of each web scheme as a void tracer. We

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Moving Loads on Thermo-viscoelastic Micropolar Solid Medium with Voids and Two Temperature [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics
This work involves the study of the effects of moving loads in an isotropic, homogeneous, micropolar, porous thermo-viscoelastic solid material with two temperatures. The problem is solved in the context of Green-Naghdi theory (G-N II and G-N III).
