Use of Abductor Pollicis Brevis Tendon for Reconstruction of Chronic Thumb Metacarpophalangeal Joint Radial Collateral Ligament Injuries: A Report of Two Cases and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Radial collateral ligament (RCL) injuries of the thumb metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint are relatively rare compared to ulnar collateral ligament lesions. These injuries typically occur due to forced and sudden adduction of the thumb and can significantly impair MCP joint functionality.

Fetal Pain Perception: Legislative Assertions and Developmental Neuroscience

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, Volume 4, Issue 1, Page 15-28, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Pain perception is a conscious experience, but neither pain nor consciousness is defined in the developing human fetus. Emergent consciousness may be regarded as a phenomenon that ultimately arises from an essential minimum of functional neuronal connectivity. Proposed U.S.

Antisense Oligonucleotide Pulldown and Silencing of Circular RNA Nfix In Vivo in Neonatal Mouse Lungs

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 6, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract RNA‐based therapeutics are emerging as a powerful platform for disease treatment, and one of the novel RNA molecules with therapeutic potential is circular RNA (circRNA). The ubiquitously expressed circRNAs are covalently closed, single‐stranded RNA molecules formed by backsplicing and are known to regulate gene expression by either sponging ...

Hybrid ANN‐Based Modeling and Optimization of Drilling Performance in Basalt Fiber Composites

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study optimizes drilling of woven basalt fiber–epoxy laminates using RSM and ANN–ABC models. Spindle speed, feed rate, and laminate thickness were analyzed for torque and delamination, identifying optimal conditions (1200 rpm, 0.1 mm/rev) for sustainable machining performance.

Optimization and Assessment of Parabolic Trough Solar Power Plants in Arid Climates: A Case Study in Tunisia

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 1180-1194, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aims to model a solar power plant (SPP) utilizing parabolic trough collectors (PTC) to fulfill the electricity needs in an arid zone of the southern of Tunisia. The research integrates both experimental and numerical approaches. A prototype of a PTC was first constructed and experimentally tested under arid climates. Subsequently, a
