Rock volatility and aerosol composition
Nature, 1976ON the basis of recent measurements, I propose here that part of the Earth's aerosol burden comes from the volatilisation (sublimation) of the components of surface rocks, in addition to the well known man-made contribution. Calculations on a simple kinetic model indicates that vapour pressures of ∼ 10−11 atm could support the observed atmospheric ...

Volatile composition of Laetiporus sulphureus
2000Laetiporus sulphureus was investigated for volatile compounds by GC/MS. Twenty-six components were identified with major constituents being (Z)-3-methylcinnamaldehyde (27.5%), 2-phenylethanol (6.4%), benzaldehyde (4.0%) and N-phenylethylformamide (3.8%). Odorous aromatic derivatives represented 11.5% of the volatile fraction.
