Emerging Investigators Series: Pyrolysis Removes Common Microconstituents Triclocarban, Triclosan, and Nonylphenol from Biosolids [PDF]
Reusing biosolids is vital for the sustainability of wastewater management. Pyrolysis is an anoxic thermal degradation process that can be used to convert biosolids into energy rich py-gas and py-oil, and a beneficial soil amendment, biochar.

High‐Speed and Scalable Wet Spinning of Graphene/Liquid Crystalline Elastomer Composite Filaments
Polydomain filaments from graphene/liquid crystalline elastomer (LCE) composites are scalably‐manufactured by wet spinning across a wide range of diameters (≈137–1128 µm) at a speed up to 4500 m h−1 through a double diffusion coagulation mechanism, enabling fast actuation and optimized mechanical performance for broad applications.

Improving N use and performance of arable crops on organic arable farms using an expert group approach (OF0178) [PDF]
This is the final report for Defra project OF0178. Government seeks to support the development of organic farming in the UK, but nitrogen (N) almost always limits productivity on organic farms.

Tunable Tactile Synapses Enabled by Erasable Doping in Iongel‐Gated Nanotube Network Transistors
Artificial tactile synaptic sensors are realized by an iongel‐gated single‐walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) transistor with reversible doping characteristics. The device senses and memorizes tactile stimuli and exhibits gate bias‐dependent excitatory or inhibitory synaptic behavior.

Factors affecting the volatilization of volatile organic compounds from wastewater [PDF]
This study aimed to understand the influence of the wind speed (U10cm), water depth (h) and suspended solids (SS) on mass transfer coefficient (KOLa) of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) volatilized from wastewater.

Modeling ammonia emissions from dairy production systems in the United States [PDF]
Dairy production systems are hot spots of ammonia (NH3) emission. However, there remains large uncertainty in quantifying and mitigating NH3 emissions from dairy farms due to the lack of both long-term field measurements and reliable methods for ...

Multielement Filament Memristor Enabling Multifunctional Neuromorphic Device
A new type of memristor featuring a hybrid mechanism and multifunctional applications is introduced. The proposed single device combines the alloy metal filament with the oxygen vacancy filament to achieve both resistive and threshold switching with enhanced reliability, mimicking both biological synapses and nociceptors. This study shows that filament‐

Changes in the Distribution of Income Volatility [PDF]
Recent research has documented a significant rise in the volatility (e.g., expected squared change) of individual incomes in the U.S. since the 1970s. Existing measures of this trend abstract from individual heterogeneity, effectively estimating an increase in average volatility.
