Programmable Paracrine‐Mimetic Microneedle System for Temporal Regulation of Cardiac Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Temporal signaling is encoded into a programmable paracrine‐mimetic microneedle patch via tris(2,2'‐bipyridyl)dichlororuthenium(II) hexahydrate/sodium persulfate‐tuned hydrogel microparticles that deliver TGF‐β, IGF‐1, and VEGF over phase‐matched 7‐, 14‐, and 28‐day windows.

First In-Situ Measurements of Plume Chemistry at Mount Garet Volcano, Island of Gaua (Vanuatu)

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Recent volcanic gas compilations have urged the need to expand in-situ plume measurements to poorly studied, remote volcanic regions. Despite being recognized as one of the main volcanic epicenters on the planet, the Vanuatu arc remains poorly ...

Electrocatalytic C─C Bond Formation Via Cyanide Interception of CO2 Reduction Intermediates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electrochemical CO2 reduction offers a sustainable route to convert greenhouse gas into high‐value‐added chemicals, yet product distributions remain largely limited to simple C1‐C3 molecules. Here, we report a new reaction in which CO2 reduction intermediates undergo direct C‐C coupling with an external carbon nucleophile under electrochemical

A review of the geodynamic setting of the Volcanic Domain in the Juruena Magmatic Arc, southwestern Amazon Craton, Brazil, based on geochemical, U-Pb and Sm-Nd data

open access: yesJournal of the Geological Survey of Brazil, 2019
In SW Amazon Craton, along the boundary between the Ventuari-Tapajós (1.9 to 1.8 Ga) and the Rio Negro-Juruena (1.8 to 1.55 Ga) provinces, an association of volcanic rocks and related epizonal granitic plutons crop out as a volcanic belt with more than ...

ZBTB18 Dysfunction Promotes Neuropathic Pain via CHD4‐based Epigenetic Disinhibition of CLIC1 Channels in Sensory Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we identify a novel functional role of ZBTB18 in regulating trigeminal‐mediated neuropathic pain. Nerve injury reduces ZBTB18 in trigeminal ganglion neurons, impairing CHD4/NuRD recruitment and de‐repressing Clic1. Elevated CLIC1 enhances chloride channel activity and neuronal hyperexcitability, thereby driving pain.

Morphometric analysis of the submarine arc volcano Monowai (Tofua - Kermadec Arc) to decipher tecteno-magnetic interactions

open access: yes, 2014
Morphometric analysis of multibeam bathymetry and backscatter data is applied to Monowai, a submarine volcano of the active Tofua – Kermadec Arc to map and document the structure and evolution of the volcanic centre.

Volcanic Lakes

open access: yes, 2015
Volcanic lakes are amongst the most spectacular natural features on the planet. These intersections of magmatic-hydrothermal systems and the Earth’s surface are, poetically speaking, “blue windows” into the depth of a volcano (Fig. 1).

Melt Focusing Along Permeability Barriers at Subduction Zones and the Location of Volcanic Arcs

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2020
Fluids released from dehydration reactions occurring in subducting slabs trigger partial melting in the mantle wedge. The resulting magma rises through the overlying mantle wedge and lithosphere and forms arc volcanoes at subduction zones.

SerpinA3 is an Endogenous TGF‐β Receptor Antagonist that Attenuates Cardiac Fibroblast Activation and Fibrotic Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SerpinA3 acts as an endogenous TGF‐β receptor antagonist that binds to the extracellular domain of TGFR‐1, thereby preventing TGFR‐1–TGFR‐2 complex formation. This receptor‐level blockade suppresses TGF‐β/Smad2/3 signaling, attenuates cardiac fibroblast activation, and extracellular matrix deposition, and ultimately alleviates pressure overload–induced
