Melting of the glacier base during a small-volume subglacial rhyolite eruption: evidence from Blahnukur, Iceland. [PDF]
Although observations of recent volcanic eruptions beneath Vatnajokull, Iceland have improved the understanding of ice deformation and meltwater drainage, little is known about the processes that occur at the glacier base.

Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

An optimized ex vivo human liver slice culture system preserves tissue architecture, hepatocyte function, and immune‐stromal complexity for at least five days. By refining slice thickness, oxygenation, air‐liquid interface, and extracellular matrix support, the platform enables human‐relevant hepatotoxicity testing and mechanistic studies, offering a ...

An entropy‐driven interface self‐assembly strategy is proposed for the controllable synthesis of mesoporous N,S‐dual‐doped carbon nanoreactors. The N,S‐dual‐doping sites optimized the *OOH adsorption, boosting the 2e− selectivity, while the favorable mesostructure accelerated O2 enrichment.

A stable Ti3C2Clx/Ti3ZnC2 heterostructure, fabricated by dynamic etching, exhibits outstanding electrocatalytic NRR activity (NH3 yield: 20.1 µg h−1 mg−1, FE: 38.1%) in alkaline media. The corresponding Zn‐N2 battery achieves a peak power density of 36.5 µW cm−2 and an NH3 yield of 13.1 µg h−1 mg−1, providing an advanced strategy for NH3 and ...

Hyperspectral mapping of density, porosity, stiffness, and strength in hydrothermally altered volcanic rocks [PDF]
Heterogeneous structures and diverse volcanic, hydrothermal, and geomorphological processes hinder characterisation of the mechanical properties of volcanic rock masses.

How will melting of ice affect volcanic hazards in the 21st century? [PDF]
Glaciers and ice sheets on many active volcanoes are rapidly receding. There is compelling evidence that melting of ice during the last deglaciation triggered a dramatic acceleration in volcanic activity.

CAF‐derived S1P activates the S1PR3‐JNK‐Jun signaling pathway, thereby transcriptionally upregulating MALL expression in cancer cells. MALL increases the cell‐surface abundance of SDC4 by promoting its recycling and restricting its lysosomal degradation, which in turn enhances RhoA‐p‐MLC2‐dependent amoeboid invasion and SDC4‐PTN axis‐mediated cancer ...

Electric charge within volcanic plumes on Earth and Io [PDF]
Field, experimental and theoretical investigations have been carried out into the electrification of volcanic plumes. At Sakurajima volcano, Japan, ground-level perturbations of the atmospheric electric potential gradient generated by particulate plumes ...
