Triggering the 2022 eruption of Mauna Loa
Distinguishing periods of intermittent unrest from the run-up to eruption is a major challenge at volcanoes around the globe. Comparing multidisciplinary monitoring data with mineral chemistry that records the physical and spatio-temporal evolution of ...

Numerical modelling of mud volcanoes and their flows using constraints from the Gulf of Cadiz [PDF]
It is estimated that the total number of submarine mud volcanoes is between 1000 and 100 000. Because many are associated with greenhouse gases, such as methane, it is argued that the global flux of these gases to the atmosphere from the world’s ...

Tumor microenvironment drives cancer formation and progression. We analyzed the role of human cancer‐associated adipocytes from patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) stratified as lean, overweight, or obese. RNA‐seq demonstrated that, among the most altered genes involved in the tumor–stroma crosstalk, are ADAM12 and CYP1B1, which were proven to be ...

Experimental density radiography of Wudalianchi volcano with cosmic ray muons [PDF]
Muon radiography is a promising technique to image the internal density structures upto a few hundred meters scale, such as tunnels, pyramids and volcanos, by measuring the flux attenuation of cosmic ray muons after trvaling through these targets. In this study, we conducted an experimantal cosmic ray muon radiography of the Wudalianchi volcano in ...

Multi‐omics profiling reveals key factors involved in Ewing sarcoma metastasis
Using a mouse model that recapitulates the spread of tumor cells within the body, we have profiled paired tumors and metastasis samples using a multiomics approach combining different layers of biological information. We identified key genes that drive metastasis in Ewing sarcoma.

Ordinary isogeny graphs over $\mathbb{F}_p$: the inverse volcano problem [PDF]
We give a detailed presentation of $\ell$-isogeny graphs associated with ordinary elliptic curves defined over $\mathbb{F}_p$. We then focus on the following inverse problem: given an abstract volcano $V$, do there always exist primes $\ell, p \in \mathbb{N}$ such that the ordinary $\ell$-isogeny graph over $\mathbb{F}_p$ contains $V$ as a connected ...

Acoustic Scattering from Mud Volcanoes and Carbonate Mounts [PDF]
Submarine mud volcanoes occur in many parts of the world’s oceans and form an aperture for gas and fluidized mud emission from within the earth’s crust.

The fast response of volcano-seismic activity to intense precipitation: Triggering of primary volcanic activity by rainfall at Soufrière Hills Volcano, Montserrat [PDF]
One-minute resolution time series of rainfall and seismic data from the Soufriere Hills Volcano, Montserrat are analysed to explore the mechanism of external forcing of volcanic eruptions by rainfall over three years of activity.

CD226+CD8+ T cells express elevated levels of RUNX2, exhibit higher proliferation capacity, cytokines and cytolytic molecules expression, and migratory capacity. In contrast, CD226−CD8+ T cells display an exhausted phenotype associated with the increased expression of co‐inhibitory receptors and impaired effector functions.
