Modelling of earthquake swarms suggests magmatic fluids in the upper crust beneath the Eger Rift
Earthquake swarms are enigmatic seismic phenomena that occur across diverse tectonic settings, from volcanic to intraplate regions, and are often associated with fluid migration, magmatic activity, or stress redistribution. The Northwest Bohemia/Vogtland

Long-term carbon accumulation in two tropical mountain peatlands, Andes Mountains, Ecuador [PDF]
Tropical peatlands form in at least two distinct altitudinal zones, namely lowlands and high mountains. Unlike lowland tropical peatlands, which are typically forested, tropical mountain peatlands are dominated by cushion plants, bryophytes and ...

A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...

Volcanic gas monitoring of quiescent volcanoes using permanent Multi-GAS networks [PDF]
The Multi-component Gas Analyzer System (Multi-GAS) has recently consolidated as a standard technique for the nearly real-time in-situ observation of major volcanogenic components (H2O, CO2, SO2, H2S,H2) in volcanic gas plumes.

Source of phosphine on Venus—An unsolved problem
The tentative detection of ppb levels of phosphine (PH3) in the clouds of Venus was extremely surprising, as this reduced gas was not expected to be a component of Venus’ oxidized atmosphere.

Here we present the first radiometric age and geochemical (major and trace element and isotope) data for samples from the Hydrographer Ridge, a back arc volcano of the Kurile Island Arc, and a newly discovered chain of volcanoes (“Sonne Volcanoes”) on ...

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Toward Absolute Gravity Networks to Monitor the Neapolitan Volcanoes [PDF]
As well known, measurements of the time-space changes of the gravity field are a powerful approach to detect the masses change/redistribution in the underground, such as those at volcanoes.
