Improvement in Marine CSEM Imaging for Towed Electromagnetic Receivers Through Multirate Signal Processing and Adaptive Noise Suppression

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Multirate signal processing and adaptive filtering techniques have been widely employed to mitigate noise contamination and enhance the efficiency of data analysis.

The Mass Balance of the Kozelsky Glacier in Kamchatka for 1977–2022

open access: yesЛëд и снег, 2023
The change in the volume of the Kozelsky Glacier in Kamchatka for the period 1977–2022 (1977–2015 and 2015–2022) was estimated using historical data and modern DEM. During this period, the area of the glacier did not change much.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Mud Volcano Systems: Structure, Evolution and Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Mud volcano systems erupt sediment and fluid onto the Earth’s surface producing edifices up to 25 km3 in volume however, little is known about how such volumes are transported through the Earth’s crust.

Long Time Series Of Fumarolic Compositions At Volcanoes: The Key To Understand The Activity Of Quiescent Volcanoes

open access: yes, 2010
Long time series of fumarolic chemical and isotopic compositions at Campi Flegrei, Vulcano, Panarea, Nisyros and Mammoth volcanoes highlight the occurrence of mixing processes among magmatic and hydrothermal fluids.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Volcanic and sedimentary processes in phreatomagmatic volcanoes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Phreatomagmatic volcanoes form when ascending magma explosively interacts with surface or groundwater at shallow depths. Three types of phreatomagmatic activity are recognised- phreaticp phreatomagmatic (s. s. ) and surtseyan - based on the degree of

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

RRS James Cook Cruise 10, 13 May-07 Jul 2007. Hotspot ecosystems in the NE Atlantic, UK contribution to the HERMES Project. Mud volcanoes in the Gulf of Cadiz; submarine canyons west of Portugal; submarine canyons in the northern Bay of Biscay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The major objective of RRS James Cook Cruise 10 was to increase our understanding of how seafloor environmental variables affect the biodiversity, structure, function and dynamics of faunal communities in two specific ‘biological hotspot’ environments ...

TSUNAMIGENIC SOURCES IN THE INDIAN OCEAN [PDF]

open access: yesScience of Tsunami Hazards, 2008
Based on an assessment of the repeat periods of great earthquakes from past seismicity, convergence rates and paleoseismological results, possible future source zones of tsunami generating earthquakes in the Indian Ocean (possible seismic gap areas) are ...
