A Precise Voltage Distortion Compensation Strategy for Voltage Source Inverters

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2017
To achieve precise voltage value for modern model-based motor control strategies, an accurate voltage distortion compensation method for voltage source inverters is proposed in this paper. The voltage distortion principles of a mosfet -based inverter and an IGBT-based inverter are analyzed and compared.

Voltage harmonic distortion measurements using capacitive voltage transformers

Proceedings of IEEE. AFRICON '96, 2002
This paper investigates the application of capacitive voltage transformers (CVTs) for harmonic distortion measurements. Measured and simulated frequency responses are given for the voltage transformation ratio and the transconductance ratio of the capacitive divider ground return current and the high voltage input signal of a 400 kV CVT.

Voltage endurance of electrical components supplied by distorted voltage waveforms

Conference Record of the 2000 IEEE International Symposium on Electrical Insulation (Cat. No.00CH37075), 2002
The increased diffusion of power-electronic drives in electrical plants and networks is worsening the quality of energy supply, particularly voltage-waveform distortion. The harmonic content of voltage and current has been shown to contribute to accelerated degradation of insulation systems and, thus, to premature failure of electrical components. This

New low-cost voltage-to-voltage transducer for distorted signals

Computer Standards & Interfaces, 1998
During the last few years, measuring equipment has evolved towards the massive use of digital techniques and devices. The performance of the Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADC) and the computing devices has constantly improved, and very accurate and flexible instruments can now be realized with bandwidth up to several kilohertzs.

Detecting components in a distorted grid voltage

2021 Argentine Conference on Electronics (CAE), 2021
An observer based algorithm is proposed to estimate components of a distorted grid voltage. It is assumed that the grid voltage is composed of a fundamental component, a sub-harmonic and a dc component. The main goal behind this assumption is to consider many cases appearing in a modern grid, micro grid and nano grid.

A voltage-to-voltage transducer for distorted signals in high-voltage systems

IMTC/99. Proceedings of the 16th IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (Cat. No.99CH36309), 2003
Measuring voltages in HV electric power systems requires scaling the signal amplitude to the levels suitable for the input section of the employed instruments and, for safety reason, insulating the measuring instrument from the system. Both these operations are usually performed by capacitive voltage transformers, but such systems do not assure high ...
