A High Frequency Low Distortion Voltage-Follower
2006 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems, 2006This paper presents a novel voltage-follower, implemented in bipolar technology, designed for operation up to 250 MHz. It features high input and low output impedances, low total harmonic distortion (THD) and low offset ...

Voltage distortion in LED street lighting installations
Electrical Engineering, 2021The paper considers two power quality issues: voltage distortion and voltage drop along the pole lines of different LED street (road) lighting installations. The research includes three parts: (1) development of a novel model and the corresponding software for calculating voltage harmonics in the three-phase LED street lighting installations, where the

Limiting low frequency interharmonic distortion and voltage fluctuations
IEEE PES General Meeting, 2010Limiting low frequency interharmonic distortion and voltage fluctuations is considered. Reference is made to recent activities in the standard review process and to research literature regarding this specific topic and related issues. Some recalls on the main low frequency interharmonic voltages effects are reported.

Compensation of Voltage Sags Through DVR Under Distorted Grid Voltages
2018 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2018This work proposes a type of voltage insertion into the grid through a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) to compensate sagged and distorted voltage applied to sensitive load. The control to dynamically restore voltages applied to sensitive loads generates only voltage with the fundamental frequency.

Grid-connected Voltage Source Converter operation under distorted grid voltage
Proceedings of 14th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference EPE-PEMC 2010, 2010This paper proposes new control strategy for grid connected three-phase Voltage Source Converter (VSC). The strategy is designed to overcome problems of conventional voltage oriented VSC control operating under distorted grid voltage. Proposed control strategy cancels the influence of characteristic distribution grid voltage harmonics, and injects ...

Dependence of Voltage Fluctuation Severity on Clipped Sinewave Distortion of Voltage
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2021The article presents the novel findings on the dependence of voltage fluctuation severity on voltage distortion caused by power electronic loads. The results indicate the need to modify the recommended limitation of the IEC flickermeter bandwidth to cut-off frequency at least 450 Hz by the IEC standard, to consider the possible obnoxious voltage ...

Series voltage restoration under distorted supply voltage condition
2008 International School on Nonsinusoidal Currents and Compensation, 2008In this paper a series connected active compensator is considered. These kind of compensators are a cost-effective solution for the mitigation of supply voltage events. The compensator proposed in the paper allows for voltage waveform restoration, that is compensation of voltage dips, voltage variations, asymmetry and harmonics.

Voltage distortion measurement using a contactless sensor
2016 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting (PESGM), 2016Traditional monitoring systems for transmission and distribution (T&D) networks are only installed in substations, so there is no real-time and accurate power information available for on-site power quality monitoring and equipment maintenance. This issue increases the fault risk in T&D networks, and degrades the reliability and quality of power supply.

Measurement aspects of the voltage distortion compensation
European Transactions on Electrical Power, 1994AbstractA complete solution of the compensator controller, allowing to eliminate voltage distortion in power system is presented. The two‐step circuit identification procedure based on the interpolating “Fast Fourier Transformation “ (FFT) has been successfully used to damp the 3rd, 5th and 7th harmonic by 60 dB at selected buses.
