Multipulse inverter structures with low voltage distortion

2016 10th International Conference on Compatibility, Power Electronics and Power Engineering (CPE-POWERENG), 2016
A novel approach to the voltage source inverters (VSI) construction is presented in the paper. The invented inverter structures allow to operate several DC/AC converters in parallel resulting in lower voltage distortions at extremely low switching frequency.

Classification of low voltage distribution networks by means of Voltage Distortion

2005 IEEE Russia Power Tech, 2005
Determination of power quality becomes more and more important in the future. Low voltage networks are usually large and very complex. Therefore the calculation of power quality parameters by modeling as equivalent network is hardly possible in practice.

Optically-supplied voltage transducer for distorted signals in high-voltage systems

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2000
A new approach to the implementation of a measurement transducer for high-voltage (HV) electric power systems is presented. The power supply for the HV section of the measurement system, together with the required galvanic isolation, is obtained by means of an innovative energy transfer technique from the low-voltage to the HV section.

Online phase current and voltage offset calibration using inverter voltage distortion

2017 IEEE 12th International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems (PEDS), 2017
Precise current and voltage sensing is crucial for accurate control of power electronic systems. Due to parasitic effects such as the temperature dependency of analog circuit components, the measured currents and voltages are subject to sensor offset drift.

A rapid voltage detection method for low voltage ride through under distorted voltage conditions

2015 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation (ICMA), 2015
This paper deals with a novel voltage detection method for low voltage ride through under distorted voltage conditions. According to the new Grid Codes, the photovoltaic (PV) system should keep connected with the grid and inject the acquired reactive power as soon as possible when the grid voltage sags.

The Impact of Public Lighting on Voltage Distortion in Low-Voltage Distribution Systems

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 2001
Harmonic distortion has become a main concem in electric distribution systems during the last years. Several public utilities are experiencing harmonic problems on their networks and some of them started to monitor the situation of the MV and LV distribution networks. Recently, the operation of the MV and LV networks of the AEM Torino (the city utility)

Probabilistic modeling of industrial systems for voltage distortion analyses

Ninth International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power. Proceedings (Cat. No.00EX441), 2002
Referring to the IEEE industrial test system for harmonic modeling and simulation, the system impedance probabilistic model accounting for parameter uncertainty, load and supply variability is developed. Such a model together with the probabilistic model of the current pollution produced by an ASD is utilized to evaluate voltage harmonic and ...

Power Factor Correction for Distorted Bus Voltages

Electric Machines & Power Systems, 1987
ABSTRACT This paper deals with the correction of the power factor of the load when the bus voltage contains harmonics. The various optimization criteria are discussed for determining the optimal capacitor for power factor correction, The performance of the obtained capacitor is discussed by means of numerical examples.

Control Strategy for Dynamic Voltage Restorer Under Distorted and Unbalanced Voltage Conditions

2019 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2019
Under the condition where power grid voltage is unbalanced and distorted, dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is used to compensate the negative sequence voltage and harmonic voltage. In this paper, a novel double closed-loop control strategy is presented.
