Transformer-Based Dual-Mode Voltage-Controlled Oscillators

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2007
In this brief, we propose to use a transformer-based resonator to build a dual-mode oscillator, e.g., a system capable of oscillating at two different frequencies without recurring to switched inductors, switched capacitors, or varactors. The behavior of the resonator configured as a one-port and a two-port network is studied analytically, and the ...

Multi-Mode Wideband Voltage Controlled Oscillators

2006 13th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2006
Communication systems rely on stable VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) to maintain phase-locked conditions and ensure transmitted data integrity. Many third and later generation systems require multi-mode or multi-band signal sources (VCOs) to cover their bandwidth requirement.

Voltage mode controlled buck converter under input voltage variations

2015 IEEE 15th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering (EEEIC), 2015
Power electronic converters play a vital role in a power system and the most commonly used type of DC/DC converters is buck converter. This is due to the fact that buck converters are widely used to step down the voltage as well as they provide good voltage regulation in critical applications including power supplies for data centers.

AC voltage regulation by switch mode PWM voltage controller

2013 26th IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE), 2013
Voltage sag is an important power quality problem. It may affect domestic, industrial and commercial customers. Voltage sags may either be decreasing or increasing due to faults or change in loads. In this paper a switch mode AC to AC regulator is investigated to maintain constant voltage across the domestic appliance during the voltage deviation from ...

Operation of a DSTATCOM in Voltage Control Mode

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 2002
This paper presents the operating principles of a distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM) that is used to maintain the voltage of a distribution bus. A three-phase, four-wire distribution system is assumed in this study. A three-phase bridge inverter circuit that is supplied by two neutral-clamped dc storage capacitors realizes the DSTATCOM.

Haptic Performance Using Voltage-Mode Motor Control

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2020
Haptic devices driven by dc motors are usually controlled in current mode due to the direct relationship between current and torque. This paper analyzes the performance of voltage-mode controllers whose main drawback is that the torque of the actuator depends on its electrical dynamics.
