The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

An Effective Trade-off between Stability and Voltage Regulation

open access: yes, 2006
This paper addresses a new robust control methodology to enhance the power system stability and voltage regulation as an integrated design approach. The automatic voltage regulation (AVR) and power system stabilizer (PSS) design problems are reduced to ...

Fast and slow voltage-dependent dynamics of magnesium block in the NMDA receptor: the asymmetric trapping block model

open access: yes, 2004
The NMDA receptor (NMDAR) produces a long-lasting component of the glutamatergic EPSC in mammalian central neurons. The current through NMDARs is voltage dependent as a result of block by extracellular magnesium, which has recently been shown to give ...

Optimal Voltage Control Strategy for Voltage Regulators in Active Unbalanced Distribution Systems Using Multi-Agents

open access: yes, 2020
The rapid increase in the installation of renewable energy sources, particularly solar photovoltaic (PV) sources associated with unbalanced features of distribution systems (DS), disturbs the classic control strategy of voltage regulation devices and ...

Increasing Distributed Generation Penetration using Soft Normally-Open Points [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper considers the effects of various voltage control solutions on facilitating an increase in allowable levels of distributed generation installation before voltage violations occur.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Investigation of Var Compensation Schemes in Unbalanced Distribution Systems

open access: yesComplexity, 2019
Distributed rooftop photovoltaic (PV) generators prospered distributed generation (DG) in recent years. Certain randomness of rooftop PV connection may lead to significant PV power imbalance across three phases, especially in low-voltage distribution ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Research on rotor-side frequency conversion speed regulation technology for high voltage wound-rotor motor

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2018
In view of problems of technical difficulties, high cost and high voltage requirements for power electronic components in current high voltage wound-rotor motor using stator-side high voltage inverter for frequency conversion speed regulation, a rotor ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
