Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Experimental Evaluation of a 2 kW/100 kHz DC–DC Bidirectional Converter Based on a Cuk Converter Using a Voltage-Doubler Concept

open access: yesEnergies
This paper presents a theoretical analysis of steady-state operation, control-oriented modeling for voltage control, and the experimental results of a DC–DC bidirectional converter based on a Cuk converter using a voltage-doubler concept.

A novel bidirectional DC-DC converter

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2016
For shortages of traditional Buck-Boost converters such as limited output voltage, poor stability, low voltage gain and so on, a novel bidirectional DC-DC converter was designed which used Z-source network to connect DC input power and load.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Demonstration of sustained and useful converter responses during balanced and unbalanced faults in microgrids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In large power grids where converter penetration is presently low and the network impedance is predominantly reactive, the required response from converters during faults is presently specified by phrases such as “maximum reactive output”.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Analysis of harmonic current interaction in an industial plant [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
An analysis of current transients caused by the operation of a nearby device in an industrial plant is presented in the paper. The source of current transients in the factory lighting system was traced to the operation of the nearby six-pulse AC/DC ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

PHOTOVOLTAIC BASED SHUNT ACTIVE POWER FILTER USING P-Q THEORY FOR ENHANCING THE POWER QUALITY

open access: yesElectrica, 2015
This paper proposes a three phase shunt active power filter with photovoltaic array and battery, incorporatedwith DC-DC boost converter. The filter consists of a three phase voltage source PWM converter with a DC capacitor atthe input side.
