Development of a new voltage source inverter (VSI) average model including low frequency harmonics

2010 Twenty-Fifth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2010
This paper presents an enhanced average model of a voltage source inverter (VSI) that can accurately predict some of the low frequency phenomena only seen by the switching models. These phenomena include the dead time, voltage drop across switching devices (switch & diode), different modulation and minimum pulse width.

Curve fitting technique for optimal pulsewidth modulation (PWM) online control of a voltage source inverter (VSI)

2000 TENCON Proceedings. Intelligent Systems and Technologies for the New Millennium (Cat. No.00CH37119), 2002
A curve fitting technique to allow online computation of switching angles based on the optimal PWM switching strategies is presented. Detailed description of the curve fitting technique as applied to the optimal PWM switching angles trajectories for a VSI particularly for AC power conditioner or UPS applications is provided in this paper. This includes

Accurate Open-Loop Impedance Model of Single-Phase Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) Considering the Dead-Time Effects

2019 20th Workshop on Control and Modeling for Power Electronics (COMPEL), 2019
The impedance-based approach has been widely adopted to analyze converter-grid interactions. The dead-Time have a significant impact on the output impedance of the voltage source inverter (VSI), which will further affect the stability of the grid-connected VSI.

Experimental study on harmonic losses of a dual-stator synchronous motor with redundant voltage source inverter (VSI) drive

2008 18th International Conference on Electrical Machines, 2008
This paper presents the results and conclusions on loss measurements of a 1 MW dual-stator synchronous motor with redundant voltage source inverter (VSI) drive. Measurements were performed on both 3-phase configuration with paralleled stator systems and 6-phase configuration with 30 degree phase shift between the stator systems (YY30).

Small-signal model of a voltage source inverter (VSI) considering the dead-time effect and space vector modulation types

2011 Twenty-Sixth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2011
This paper presents a modified small-signal model of a voltage source inverter (VSI) that captures model nonlinearities such as dead time and modulation effects that were not presented in the literature. Previous research has concentrated on developing compensation methods for these types of phenomena in a switching model, but none actually derived an ...

Comparison of Open and Short-Circuit Switches Faults Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) Analysis Using Time-Frequency Distributions

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2015
Voltage source inverter (VSI) plays an important roles in electrical drive systems. Consistently, expose to hash environmental condition, the lifespan of the electronic component such as insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) may shorten and many faults related to the inverter especially switches can be occur.
