The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Short-Term Voltage Stability Analysis and Enhancement Strategies for Power Systems With Photovoltaic Penetration

open access: yesIEEE Access
As the photovoltaic (PV) penetration in the grid continues to rise, significant changes occur in the power source configuration of power systems, altering the short-term voltage stability characteristics of the grid. This paper theoretically analyzes the

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Dynamic voltage safety measurement and assessment index considering short-term voltage stability

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series
Abstract At present, most of the short-term voltage stability criteria used in various power grids are based on voltage waveform, but these criteria can only determine whether the voltage is stable in the power system, but cannot give the relative degree of voltage stability.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Fast Voltage Stability Margin Computation via a Second-Order Power Flow Supported by a Linear Voltage Stability Index and Sensitivity Analysis

open access: yesEnergies
One of the crucial types of information needed to guarantee the secure operation of power systems is their voltage stability condition. This is particularly true for power systems operating at peak hours or under abnormal conditions, such as ...
