The use of tangent vectors for voltage collapse analysis
DRPT2000. International Conference on Electric Utility Deregulation and Restructuring and Power Technologies. Proceedings (Cat. No.00EX382), 2002Nowadays, it has been observed that the load demand increase in many electrical systems has not been matched with the necessary investments to upgrade the power generation and transmission. This has caused such systems to work more stressed leading to voltage stability problems. The understanding of the events leading to the voltage collapse phenomenon

Predictive DTC-PWM of PMSM based on zero voltage and 12 voltage vectors
Journal of Power Electronics, 2020This paper presents a novel predictive direct torque control (PDTC) for permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) using the zero voltage vector and a selected voltage vector from the 12 available voltage vectors. The 12 voltage vectors consist of 6 effective voltage vectors and 6 combinational voltage vectors to improve control performance. To select

Support Vector Machine for Classification of Voltage Disturbances
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2007The support vector machine (SVM) is a powerful method for statistical classification of data used in a number of different applications. However, the usefulness of the method in a commercial available system is very much dependent on whether the SVM classifier can be pretrained from a factory since it is not realistic that the SVM classifier must be ...

A compact high voltage vector inversion generator
Digest of Technical Papers. Tenth IEEE International Pulsed Power Conference, 2002The Pichugin pulser (named after its Russian inventor) is a compact, high reliability vector inversion generator. Although consisting of many stages, the Pichugin pulser has the distinct advantage that only one inversion switch is required. One-switch operation gives the generator its high degree of reliability and is accomplished by using transformer ...

Inductive voltage dividers comparison with a vector voltmeter
Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements. Conference Digest. CPEM 2000 (Cat. No.00CH37031), 2002A setup for calibration of inductive voltage dividers, based on a vector voltmeter with very high common-mode-rejection-ratio (CMRR), is described. The voltmeter is built with a differential amplifier and a lock-in board, both enclosed in a guard, completely battery-operated and interfaced with optical fiber links.

This paper proposes an analytical model for calculating of the harmonic spectra of a three-level voltage source inverter (VSI) with space-vector PWM (SVPWM).A three-level inverter has a large number of switching states compared to a two-level inverter and, therefore ,the SVPWM algorithm is more complex.

Autocommissioning for voltage-referenced voltage-fed vector-controlled induction motor drives
IEE Proceedings B Electric Power Applications, 1993An automated self commissioning procedure for voltage-referenced voltage-fed vector-controlled induction motor drives is described. The measurement of the electrical parameters of the motor at standstill, and mechanical parameters from open loop runup and rundown tests are described.

Simulation of Three-Phase Voltage Rectifier Based on Voltage Space-Vector Method
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012The mathematical model in the two-phase synchronous rotating coordinate system of three-phase voltage PWM rectifier is set up. A novel and fast algorithm of Space Vector Pulse Modulation (SVPWM) for three- phase voltage rectifier is adopted in this paper. The MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation model is presented based on the mathematical model of PWM rectifier.

The paper deals with the nearest vector selecting space vector control (SVC) of any arbitrary MLVSI circuit with any arbitrary number of the equal feeding DC voltage levels. The Lab View model for the instantaneous SVC controller is designed. The MLVSI output voltage THD and integrated voltage harmonics factors (IHF) needed for computing of the load ...

Synchoronous PWM with single voltage vector per sector in voltage source inverter
2015 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2015This paper proposes the synchronous PWM whose number of the sampling per sector is one for high speed drive system. A synchronous PWM has already been introduced in high power-low switching system to reduce the harmonic frequency components of the modulated voltage.
