Formation and structures of tyrocidine B oligomers in solution in the presence of water

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
Small-angle x-ray scattering and quasi-elastic light scattering measurements were conducted to analyze correlations between the structure and short-time dynamics of tyrocidine B·hydrochloride (TrcB) in ethanol, acetonitrile, and (R,S)-2-methylbutanol ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Calibration of a Dust Scattering Instrument Using Tomographic Techniques and Its Application to a Dust Sensor Instrument

open access: yesSensors, 2023
The characterization of suspended dust near the Martian surface is extremely relevant to understand the climate of Mars. In this frame, a Dust Sensor instrument, an infrared device designed to obtain the effective parameters of Martian dust using the ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Improved Determination of Particle Backscattering Coefficient Using Four-Angle Volume Scattering Measurements

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The backscattering coefficient of aquatic particles (bbp(λ)) is one of the most important inherent optical properties in remote sensing. Due to the practical difficulties associated with measurements of the volume scattering function (VSF) over the whole

Discrete unified gas kinetic scheme for multiscale anisotropic radiative heat transfer

open access: yesAdvances in Aerodynamics, 2020
In this work, a discrete unified gas kinetic scheme (DUGKS) is developed for radiative transfer in anisotropic scattering media. The method is an extension of a previous one for isotropic radiation problems [1].

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Metasurface virtual absorbers: unveiling operative conditions through equivalent lumped circuit model

open access: yesEPJ Applied Metamaterials, 2021
Virtual absorption concept has been recently introduced as a new phenomenon observed in electromagnetics and optics consisting of theoretically unlimited accumulation of energy within a finite volume of material without dissipation.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Total decay and transition rates from LQCD

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
We present a new technique for extracting total transition rates into final states with any number of hadrons from lattice QCD. The method involves constructing a finite-volume Euclidean four-point function whose corresponding infinite-volume spectral ...
