In a lumbar spine instability model, dorsal root ganglion cells mediate the perception of relevant mechanical stresses through Piezo2 and subsequently release CGRP. CGRP activates the NF‐κB signaling pathway in cartilage endplate cells through the receptor RAMP1.

This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Flexible IMU Sensor Array For 3D Colonoscope Shape Reconstruction and AI‐Based Loop Detection
We propose a sensing platform for 3D visualization of the colonoscope combined with artificial intelligence (AI)‐based loop detection. The system consists of an array of 15 inertial measurement units (IMUs) mounted on a flexible printed circuit board that can be retrofitted into the instrument channel of conventional colonoscopes.

A critical analysis of the Mises stress criterion used in frequency domain fatigue life prediction [PDF]
Multiaxial fatigue failure criteria are formulated in time and frequency domain. The number of frequency domain criteria is rather small and the most popular one is the equivalent von Mises stress criterion.

The graphical abstract image of bamboo‐like whisker‐reinforced Ca‐P bioceramics accelerating large segmental bone regeneration. ABSTRACT Regenerative repair of segmental bone defect remains a major clinical challenge. The conventional mental implants suffer from mechanical strength mismatch and long‐term foreign bodies presence.

The Geometrical Effect on the Von Mises Stress on Ball and Socket Artificial Discs
Wear has been considered as a major issue for ball and socket artificial discs. This paper studies the effects of ball radius and radial clearance of the artificial disc on the von Mises stresses. Different material combinations, used in artificial discs, are compared.

Hierarchical PP–LSR107–BaTiO3 nanocomposite films are fabricated by one‐step extrusion and stretching for roll‐to‐roll manufacture, combining high energy storage and processing flexibility. LSR107 surrounds BaTiO3‐rich regions, locating amorphous PP, decreasing defects, and introducing deep traps that homogenize the electric field and suppress charge ...
