Low Cycle Repetitive Loading of Ti‐6Al‐4V‐Epoxy Composite Lattice Structures for Enhanced Energy Dissipation and Damage Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Composite Ti–6Al–4V–epoxy lattice structures are additively manufactured and epoxy infiltrated for cyclic loading. At low lattice volume fractions, hybridization produces synergistic gains in stiffness and energy dissipation. At higher volume fractions, synergy diminishes, although composites still exceed metallic lattices in specific energy ...

Maximum von Mises Stress in the Sliding Contact of Coated Bodies [PDF]

open access: yesTribology in Industry, 2019
Competent design decisions for the optimum configuration of a coated contact require the prediction of the stress state developing in the coated body under contact load. Conventional methods of superposition of effects applied in the elasticity of homogenous bodies fail in case of multilayered materials as the response of the latters to point load has ...

Comparison of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Energy Absorbers Under Uniaxial Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates LCD 3D printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures as mechanical energy absorbers. By comparing various base designs and layered combinations under uniaxial compression, it identifies that a Diamond‐Gyroid sandwich structure offers superior performance.

Three-dimensional finite element analysis of the biomechanical behaviour of different dental implants under immediate loading during three masticatory cycles

open access: yesHeliyon
The study aimed to evaluate the impact of varying modulus of elasticity (MOE) values of dental implants on the deformation and von Mises stress distribution in implant systems and peri-implant bone tissues under dynamic cyclic loading.

Multimodal Soft Surgical Robots Enabled by Eco‐Degradable, Sterilizable Polymers and Transient Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A compostable PGS soft surgical robot with interchangeable modules integrates transient Mo tactile and Si thermal sensors for dual feedback. The device preserves its function after clinical‐grade sterilization, demonstrates stable actuation and cardiac tissue grasping with real‐time in vivo pulsatile monitoring, and biodegrades post‐use with soil‐safe,

Use of Bézier curves in the design of the displacement law of the cam-follower mechanism: Von Mises effective Stress

open access: yes, 2020
D Designing cams by Bézier Curves has become increasingly common, since the mathematical development of this method is less complex. Bezier curves are Bernstein-based polynomials under a unitary domain, and in that sense, this article presents the design

Seta‐Inspired Mechano‐Intelligent Janus Bandage with Coordinated Adhesion–Contraction for Minimizing Scarring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a bioinspired mechano‐intelligent Janus bandage (MIB) with a hydrophobic flat exterior and a hydrophilic interior featuring gecko‐mimicking wedged microstructures, fabricated via micromolding and anisotropic plasma treatment. The MIB dynamically synchronizes adhesion and contraction, enabling precise force modulation.

Three-dimensional simulation of the lumbar spine under lumbar spinal stenosis with different sizes of spinal canal

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
In this paper, we investigate the effect of body weight on the lumbar spine with different spinal canal sizes when humans bend down by using the finite element method. Lumbar spinal stenosis is the narrowing of the spinal canal.
