On Vortex Methods

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 1985
Error estimates for fully discretized two- and three-dimensional vortex methods for Euler's equations are given. An elementary proof of the consistency result by \textit{G. H. Cottet} [Thèse de 3ième cycle, to appear], together with its three-dimensional analogue is presented. Following the convergence theory of \textit{J. T.

Statistical two-vortex equilibrium and vortex merger [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 1996
Two-vortex solutions from the mean field equations respecting all conservation laws of the Euler equations in two dimensions are calculated in a unit disk. These states are compared to symmetric and off-center single-vortex solutions. A thermodynamic stability analysis is used to determine their stability and a critical separation for stable two-vortex

Standard and Modified SST Models with the Consideration of the Streamline Curvature for Separated Flow Calculation in a Narrow Channel with a Conical Dimple on the Heated Wall

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
The testing of the standard and modified SST models of the transfer of shear stresses was carried out on an example of calculating the heat transfer with an intense detached flow around a conical dimple with a slope angle of 45° on the heated wall of a ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Detecting androgen receptor (AR), AR variant 7 (AR-V7), prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) gene expression in CTCs and plasma exosome-derived cfRNA in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) by integrating the VTX-1 CTC isolation system with the QIAGEN AdnaTest

open access: yesBMC Cancer
Background Therapies for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) include targeting the androgen receptor (AR) with androgen receptor inhibitors (ARIs) and prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA).

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.
