Decrypting cancer's spatial code: from single cells to tissue niches

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial transcriptomics maps gene activity across tissues, offering powerful insights into how cancer cells are organised, switch states and interact with their surroundings. This review outlines emerging computational, artificial intelligence (AI) and geospatial approaches to define cell states, uncover tumour niches and integrate spatial data with ...

ENERGY EFFICENCY INCREASE OF PROCESSES ON GAS – REGULATING STATIONS

open access: yesProblems of the Regional Energetics, 2012
There are presented results of the thermodynamic analysis of vortex tubes in recuperative technological schemes and examples of practical implementation of findings in the chemical, oil and gas industry, in particular for the vortex heating of the ...

Effects of Partial Admission Ratio on the Performance and Flow Characteristics of a Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Axial-Flow Turbine

open access: yesEnergies
The supercritical carbon dioxide (S-CO2) Brayton cycle has become one of the most promising power generation systems in recent years. Owing to the high density of S-CO2, the turbine operates with a lower flow coefficient and a reduced blade height ...

Relation between Vortex core charge and Vortex Bound States

open access: yes, 1998
Spatially inhomogeneous electron distribution around a single vortex is discussed on the basis of the Bogoliubov-de Gennes theory. The spatial structure and temperature dependence of the electron density around the vortex are presented.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Numerical simulation of structural response during propeller-rudder interaction

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics, 2021
The propeller wake can cause vibrations on the rudder surface, which worsen the noise and reliability. The vibration monitoring of the rudder operating in the propeller wake with fluid-structure interaction (FSI) method is still challenging.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Three-vortex configurations in trapped Bose-Einstein condensates

open access: yes, 2010
We report on the creation of three-vortex clusters in a $^{87}Rb$ Bose-Einstein condensate by oscillatory excitation of the condensate. This procedure can create vortices of both circulation, so that we are able to create several types of vortex clusters

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Fidimag – A Finite Difference Atomistic and Micromagnetic Simulation Package

open access: yesJournal of Open Research Software, 2018
Fidimag is an open-source scientific code for the study of magnetic materials at the nano- or micro-scale using either atomistic or finite difference micromagnetic simulations, which are based on solving the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. In addition,
