Nonuniform currents and spins of relativistic electron vortices in a magnetic field [PDF]
We present a relativistic description of electron vortex beams in a homogeneous magnetic field. Including spin from the beginning reveals that spin-polarized electron vortex beams have a complicated azimuthal current structure, containing small rings of ...

Infrared Nanocrystals for Space Application: Hardness to Irradiations
This article investigates infrared HgTe nanocrystals under X‐ray and ion irradiation, revealing remarkable radiation hardness. It uncovers distinct degradation mechanisms and shows that the nanomaterial outperforms integrated electronics. The results position colloidal nanocrystals as promising candidates for resilient space and harsh‐environment ...

Optical vortex braiding with Bessel beams
We propose the braiding of optical vortices in a laser beam with more than 2 π rotation by superposing Bessel modes with a plane wave. We experimentally demonstrate this by using a Bessel–Gaussian beam and a coaxial Gaussian, and we present measurements of three complete braids. The amount of braiding is fundamentally limited only

Digital Actuation Control of Soft Robotic Origami With Self‐Folding Liquid Crystal Elastomer Hinges
Self‐folding soft‐rigid hybrid robotic origami is enabled by liquid crystal elastomer actuators with embedded Joule heating and closed‐loop digital control. Digitally addressable hinges provide reversible and programmable transitions between distinct folded states while maintaining actuation performance at high cycle counts (over 1500).

Orbital angular momentum beam instabilities in engineered nonlinear colloidal media
In this letter, we experimentally demonstrate the evolution of the optical vortex beams of different topological charges propagating in engineered nano-colloidal suspension of negative polarizability with saturable nonlinearities.

Rotational Doppler Effect of Vector Beams
The optical rotational Doppler effect occurs when vortex beams are scattered by rotating objects and demonstrate the Doppler frequency shifts in scattered beams, which are associated with the optical angular momentum of vortex beams and the relative ...

Robust and adjustable C-shaped electron vortex beams
Wavefront engineering is an important quantum technology, often applied to the production of states carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM). Here, we demonstrate the design and production of robust C-shaped beam states carrying OAM, in which the usual ...

Domain Wall Rebounds Driven by Competing Entropic and Spin‐Transfer Torques in Cylindrical Nanowires
Domain‐wall motion in cylindrical magnetic nanowires driven by nanosecond current pulses. Low current densities efficiently displace domain walls, whereas higher currents cause rebound at the wire ends. The effect results from the interplay between spin‐transfer torque and thermally induced processes, highlighting the role of thermal gradients in ...
