Nonuniform currents and spins of relativistic electron vortices in a magnetic field [PDF]
We present a relativistic description of electron vortex beams in a homogeneous magnetic field. Including spin from the beginning reveals that spin-polarized electron vortex beams have a complicated azimuthal current structure, containing small rings of ...

Broadband Vortex Beam Modulating System Based on Electrically Controlled Liquid Crystal Devices
Vortex beams with helical phase wavefronts have recently emerged as a research hotspot because of their widespread applications such as ultra-high dimensional information encoding, quantum entanglement, and data transmission due to their unique ...

Far-field measurements of vortex beams interacting with nanoholes [PDF]
We measure the far-field intensity of vortex beams going through nanoholes. The process is analyzed in terms of helicity and total angular momentum. It is seen that the total angular momentum is preserved in the process, and helicity is not.

Propagation of Vortex Electron Wave Functions in a Magnetic Field [PDF]
The physics of coherent beams of photons carrying axial orbital angular momentum (OAM) is well understood and such beams, sometimes known as vortex beams, have found applications in optics and microscopy.

Review on vortex beams with low spatial coherence
Vortex beams with helical phase, carrying phase singularity and orbital angular momentum, have attract great attention in the past decades due to their wide applications in optical communications, optical manipulation, super-resolution imaging and so on.

Multimode vector beam synthesis and rapid modulation via interferometric methods [PDF]
Optical interference techniques are widely regarded as an effective approach for generating vector beams. In this paper, we theoretically simulate the generation of multimode vector beams through the vortex beams interference. Then, in the experiment, we

Optics-to-THz conversion of vortex beams using nonlinear difference frequency generation [PDF]
In this paper, using a modified model of slowly varying amplitudes, a process of optics-to-THZ-conversion of vortex beams based on the nonlinear difference frequency generation in a medium with second-order susceptibility is considered.

Microwave vortex beam launcher design [PDF]
A novel design for a vectorial vortex beam launcher in the microwave regime is devised. The beam is formed by launching a single guided transverse electric (TE) mode of a metallic circular waveguide into free‐space. Excitation is achieved by the mean of an inserted coaxial loop antenna.

Abruptly autofocusing vortex beams
We generate abruptly autofocusing beams that produce vortices at the focus. We give explicit equations for the phase-only Fourier masks that generate these beams including explanations for controlling the focal distance and numerical aperture. We show experimental results for the focal distance, the vortex pattern and show that the diameter of the ...
